Totally agree. Not sure it’s laziness but there’s 0 excuse that the quality isn’t the same across the board as it is on Vrbangers/vrconk. The quality they have is miles and miles ahead of pretty much all studios. Even Badoink has improved. I don’t think SLRO really look that good at all. The outlines seem too dark now, or the lighting is off. It looks more grainy to me than it should. And the scale seems off too. I’m not versed at all in the technical aspects of it so I don’t understand why it’s the case hit clearly VRB is doing somethjng different that is vastly superior. So the proof is out there of what videos can look like and yet no one else can do it.

That's the biggest problem we are facing in vr.
That's why we stepped up production with originals and that's why we are getting all flat now to get us content overkill

    Good post. You say you want innovation and experimenting, however I'd wager that is not in fact correct. You want polish...which often does not come from experimentation until much later. No, experimentation is often met with extreme prejudice, especially on SLR. It is pissed on. Nearly every video I have made has had at least someone ridicule the 'experiment', some even had forum posts demanding they be removed. Now, I keep going cuz so what.

    All I am saying, is that from what I see (for the most part) the porn community will heavily skull fuck any attempt for experimentation. They are not patient enough to try to see where it will go or what it can be. Filming VR is exceedingly more complicated and more time consuming than 2D. If you find something that 'kind of works', then most studios will stick with that instead of risking their pay check.

    Now, if it is the case that you in fact do care for experimentation, then so to must it be true that you must appreciate the failures that are inevitable along the ride.

          xeddin1 To the consumers,the proof of the pudding is in the eating.If it tastes good,we let you know.If it tastes bad,we let you know.The result speaks for itself.Some studios seem to manage the new camera quite well while others don't.I don't think most of us give negative feed back just for the sake of it.Note the favourable responses given to the recent camera upgrade at StasyQ and StripzVR.However,I do agree with you we want polished,finished product and experiment is the way to achieve it.

            Or if you just try something random, same outcome.
            Most things have been tried before in one form or other. Don't go out on a limb and try to reinvent the wheel. It's not going to work.
            Someone tried to mix POV and NON but it has been tried many times over the years. I could have told them it wouldn't work but instead they just wasted 3 scenes trying to experiment with something that has already failed.

            The point is you have read what people are looking for. So why not try to do those things.

                Though I suppose it depends on the studio / person. Creating only what you are 'told' to create kills all creativity in my view. I feel you should only make what you personally enjoy. Otherwise you will never create anything great. You can see this juxtaposed by looking at Lord of the Rings vs. Rings of Power.

                        Change anything? Nothing really, pov seems to be the stable for vr porn, directors have been doing good camera work with pov sex positions, lots of amateur and new channels filming great content we normally don't see with our "traditional pov"

Every studio everything looks bigger than real life with the exception of two, slro and czechvr. All other studios with 8k is scaled badly. Studios that use 7k like wankz and povr much better than 8k studios and better 7k than badly scaled 8k imo. Kudos to slr and czechvr for scaling good, all the other studios need to step up their game or use a different camera.

                                Glokta Yeah agreed, VRBANGERS is lonely at the top right now in terms of visual quality. Hopefully SLR can even surpass that when they get their newly (pre)ordered blackmagic-ursa-cine-immersive cam.

                                        jojo321 Not sure how you could say that. SLRO is all over the place with scale. Most times model is too far away or too small to me. It all depends on the individuals' IPD too. The problem is the adjustments in the Deo player are drastic when you change them. If theyadjusted the values to make each notch more of a subtle adjustment it might help. For instance going from .05 to 1.0 in horizontal offset is a huge difference, where somewhere in between would look better. Same goes for pretty much all the settings. The values between each are just too big imo. Doesn't allow for good adjusting for your personal IPD.

                                            I hate the 8k camera because of this. It has set VR back by years because of this. The old 4k cameras looked way better for scale.

                                                Glokta Given the time that's gone by in the VR space, I think all studios are now looking at making this a profitable venture. Gone are the days when money easily flowed into VR projects. Investors want to see their ROIs. And current market trends are on either AI or crypto. Studios tend to think more carefully where and how they spend and this is while keeping their heads afloat. Appears to be a reason SLR is looking at Flat at this point.
                                                Only way this continues is for the market to grow. And it is growing but there's still ways to go:

                                                On the consumer end: Headsets need to be comfortable and discrete(e.g. Bigscreen beyond form factor). Costs need to be lower.
                                                On the producer end: Lack of cheap but quality cam options. Difficulty in configuring the best out of these cams out of the box(Canon sucked big time). Lack of easy setup to watch and correct content while it's being filmed.

                                                I'm sure there's more, but these appear to be the most glaring ones.

                                                I agree with your point on VRBangers and VRSUN. They've produced some of the best quality(sharpness/focus) there is to content. It's what makes or breaks the content. They've even pushed for 12K.
                                                SLRO is somewhat up there but is inconsistent. They do deserve credit for this scene though for super sharp details. I think where SLRO shines is with it's intimacy, especially in non-passthrough scenes. Donno about scale. Angles wise, SLR mostly does better IMO. VRBangers has the girls slightly far off, missing on intimacy.
                                                Incidentally, JAV has been doing great in all of these. I guess they're much closer to the hardware side of things which shows. And costs are generally lower to film content in Japan than in USA.

                                                You see, it gets very technical at every point. That's just another barrier for common folks who want to watch or to film content.
                                                We can only wait for the maket to flourish. More headsets sold allow for more money to be made pushing the producers to produce better quality content. And headset makers and cam companies see this and make better products overall.
