  • cyber truck giveaway winners?

I don't understand why they would spend 100 thousand dollars on a truck to give away and not make a big deal over who won it. Seems like a waste of money unless nobody won. Who is the winner? Lets see proof.

I love how right at the top there's a big statement of
"NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASE OR
PAYMENT DOES NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING."

Then you have Section 3 that lists everything you can pay for to increase your chances and Section 8 that literally states your chances of winning are based on how many entries you've got through purchases.

SteveSteve They have to say no purchase necessary because in the US if you have to purchase something to win then it is considered a lottery. Really there are 3 things that make something a lottery. They have to have at least one of those things not be true. Most sweepstakes go with no purchase necessary.
    It's just a loophole.

Tbh it's feeling like this whole thing was a scam unless some proof is shown. Seems kinda weird that no one would have come forward as a winner of the truck or any of the smaller prizes.

      We have contacted the winner

you shouldn't expect much of public details as everything from now is a private matter for the winner

doublevr that comment doesnt exactly instil trust that this whole thing was legit

lets see a picture of the winner hugging the truck or wearing the headset.
i thought you guys would be proud to share the winner

Please don't make a mess out of it. We are handling it right.

If the winners want to bring it up they will do it.

            That's how things work.

Please refrain from unnecessary speculations. I can assure you we did everything according to the protocols and 15 users got notifications to claim their prize - the Cybertrack and smaller prizes like Handy.

Competition rules said winners list will be available

              1. Winners’ List: To view the winners’ list for this Promotion, please visit
                https://certified.promotrust.com/DatatechMedia/Tesla2024CyberTruckGiveaway/winners. The
winners’ list will be available after winner validation has been completed.

so not sure how you can say that everything has been done according to the protocol without that. At the very least the winners usernames could be posted.

Hairsational people aren't always great on things. sorry about that. no idea how we can make these things public. don't be hard on us. we are doing it right.

weighing transparency v privacy with the team now

I would reserve the right to go public for people.

Forgive me for quoting your own sweepstakes rules back at you. I'm sure you are well aware of what they say. I'm just curious why it seems to conflict with the above statements regarding holding back the winners announcement.

Media Release: Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Promotion constitutes each entrant’s permission for the Promotion Parties and their affiliates, agents, and agencies to use each entrant’s name, photograph, video, voice, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes in all media now known or hereinafter invented, worldwide, in perpetuity, without compensation, notification, or permission.

Your personal data will be collected on servers located in multiple countries. By entering this Promotion, you expressly consent to the transfer of your personal information to countries outside of your country of residence, including without limitation, Slovenia. ...if there really were shenanigans afoot, it would be a simple matter for SLR to give the prize to a 'fake' account, and then we'd all know no better, i'm sure this is just the usual cock up, no good deed goes unpunished, etc.

Saying that, it does seem a bit rich that the winner doesn't want to honour certain terms in the agreement ('biological information'), but is prepared to accept others (like, the actual prize...).

i'd say no car for you if you don't wanna be in the photo op! And can you imagine if the prize had been to shoot a sex scene with a porn star, by the same logic you'd have had to shoot it in full PT. Such hubris...

                  xD

"Media Release: Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Promotion constitutes each entrant’s permission for the Promotion Parties and their affiliates, agents, and agencies to use each entrant’s name, photograph, video, voice, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes in all media now known or hereinafter invented, worldwide, in perpetuity, without compensation, notification, or permission."

So every SLR member was automatically entered, correct?

So SLR unilaterally gave themselves and whoever they want to sell information to.. the rights to every single detail about every single member for eternity?

...more like everyone gets an automatic entry, but in order to accept the prize you need to at that point accept the terms and conditions. Then they can have a photo op or wtvr.

                  i assume...

I think privacy is important, just as Double stated, so I don't think photos are a good idea. I wouldn't want mine posted. Though, there should be some sort of evidence.

I mean I am an active subscriber. I -intentionally- didn’t enter the contest because ain’t no way in hell I want everyone to know I won a CyberTruck from a porn site. That’s like career limiting moves right there. If I had one, I’d be mad as hell you revealed my name as the winner.

I wouldn’t want the whole world to know if I won so I’m ok with leaving it up to the individual whether they want to come forward. Obviously that means people will speculate that it’s all shenanigans but it’s the same in pretty much any competition.
