fenderwq What I meant by non-POV POV is sub-par POV that isn't shot from an ideal POV position because of the camera size.

How about the VR lenses ? Is there any info/specs about it ? Price and availability ?
doublevr What's the FOV capture radius of those lenses though?
It would be just our luck this pro camera did an oopsie and falls short of 180 degree 2:1 ratio to cater to Apple's Spatial video format instead of the Immersive video one

over 8k x 8k per eye, this is hopefully going to look insane
As I posted before in a different thread, this is needed to fully fill the pixels of the new and upcoming 4k x 4k per eye headsets, like the Pimax Crystal Super.. because you're inside the video, you're not seeing the whole 8k x 8k (180* fov or whatever the fov of this camera is), you're zoomed into basically 4k x 4k (90-120* FOV, depending on current headsets) with the rest you can look around at, so this 8k x 8k is necessary, not overkill
And that's besides counting future-proofing, so the videos look great forever
Anyone Know Of any VR Sample movies of this ?
would love to see any sample on my quest 3 haha

Have you pre-ordered this one and if so what are your plans?
Anything as long as it means getting better quality masks for PT videos. Apparently 8k is not enough to get clean sharp edges, that has been my only issue with PT videos the way they have been done using Alpha packing instead of chroma key. At least with chroma key you could get pretty good sharp edges, as long as the scenes were filmed a good distance away from the greenscreens, but alpha pack has these annoying blurry edges that still annoy me to this day.

You probaby know this already, but to help clean up the edges of Alpha Packed scenes, in Heresphere under 'Advanced Video Settings / Environment / Mask (Alpha Packed - Cog).
There is an 'Opacity Multiplyer' option, i think the default is 1, try changing it to 1.5 up to 2 or mess about with it to suit tastes of each scene.
I personally find it cleans up the jagged edges quite nicely and helps with blur.
Hope that helps a bit.

Silly-Sausage I definitely did not know this, thank you for sharing. I assumed part of it had to do with them cramming alpha details in such small corners of the frames. I'll give this a try, thanks again , hoping to get rid of the feathered soft edges

It works better on some scenes than more others, and fluffy hair can still be an issue, but that's very complex , you just have to find a balance that fits you !
But it definitely helps with jagged edges - I have had some incredible results on my Q3 using SLR Originals Alpha scenes, and a freebie passthrough scene i got from Badoink with Blake Blossom looks fantastic too IMO.
Also add a bit of sharpness and saturation to bring it to life as some of the SLR passthrough scenes are a bit dull
Silly-Sausage Nice, yes hair and details like that are totally understandable, i just cant stand the soft feathered edges that have no details or reason to be so blurry like arms and legs. I'll give this a test tonight.
Yea I also add a little bit of sharpness, i think 5 just to make everything a little extra crispy and saturation when needed, some videos are color graded a little flatter than they should but overall i am very happy with Heresphere
Silly-Sausage I cant believe I never played with any of the alpha settings on Hereshpere, I just changed it to 2 and it was a night and day difference. Is this something that can be set globally or should I just go through each video and adjust it? Either way, thank you so much for sharing that, they look fantastic and sharp enough for any needs.
