I think the biggest problem is simply that we as users value discretion when it comes to the stroker's appearance. I would say that most viewers don't want a sex toy to be recognizable as such.
SLR Toy v Handy Comparison Video
Which of course poses a problem for the design of the toy. I think SLR is on the right track. The videos I've seen of how the stroker works look good.
Maybe in the future we'll wear a bracelet on our hand that monitors our blood pressure and adjusts the speed of the stroker, a kind of orgasm control, a few people are already working on something like that,
As most people know, a man's or woman's orgasm builds slowly over different phases of arousal until he reaches the goal and orgasm, which is what I believe would happen if the device controlled these erection phases by changes in blood pressure, the Temperature or sweat monitored “The sensors can now process these sizes so well and perhaps the use of AI will make it possible for the sex toy to optimize itself depending on the user each time the device is used.”
...logistical nightmare, i'm afraid. Typical sex devices move a sleeve up and down, this is impossible if embedded in a doll, you'd have to design a new system from the ground up that fully enclosed one, yet was still able to move up and down within the structure of the torso, without moving said torso.
Unfortunately, once you do this, you remove an incredibly useful feature from the sex device, that of interchangeable sleeves. This removes the ability for the consumer to source exactly the right sleeves for their own peculiar shaped penis (they're all different, i'm afraid...) for whatever situation they desire. So now you have to design an interchangeable, washable sleeve system for every penis on the planet, and make these compatible with your incredibly complex internal fuck machine, that you've hidden in a torso. Also, you need to vent heat somehow.
Not that it can't be done, however all these considerations boost the price into the 'luxury item' range, i think it would have to be hand made, and configured to each consumer individually.
On the plus side, there is constant traction in the sex doll business to head in the direction of 'the sex doll that fucks you'; there's sucking vaginas, grinding hips, AI chatbot heads, etc. There's no reason not to suppose that a sex doll with a fully integrated set of knee / hip / pelvis / spinal servo systems isn't in development right now somewhere. Once you can get a sex doll to ride you with the finesse of an SR6, then we're cooking. However, this is now a sex doll that fucks you, not a sex doll with a fuck machine hidden inside, so different mission statement fulfilled.
i completely agree that discretely hiding the fuck machine in a torso / hips and legs arrangement / wtvr would be a game changer, more sensual ergonomic styling would be an absolute win, and i do think we're gonna get a quantum leap in fuck machine design at some point, very curious where that's gonna take us! Always nice to be involved with a cutting edge hobby, innit…? xD
Hairsational Yeah thats true, I mean the handy is pretty quiet when you run it like you see in the demo. When there is no strain on the motor. Once you put a sleeve in it, and put yourself in it and it is working against the friction of your body, the motor growls louder in proportion to how much you make it work.
They would have to put it through a comparative decibel test rather than a movement test.
It's not easy to design a toy that is silent, but my idea, which I haven't implemented yet, is to move the toy using a magnetic field, similar to the trains that start moving without wheels. But the problem is that the manufacturer's toys have to be affordable, otherwise in my opinion almost anything would be possible.
I think most sex toys could be improved with just a few simple steps, the problem is the manufacturer's patent rights, as soon as we change something the warranty expires, which is of course normal and I suspect that in the worst case scenario it is also the case with modifications in individual cases injuries can occur.

andman24 But the problem is that the manufacturer's toys have to be affordable,
yeah exactly. There is going to be the balance always. And at a certain point, people may not care as much as you do to loose 5 decibels but spend $$$ in some high tech to get there. Im one of them. Not trying to make a space suit, just trying to create a little more immersion.
The handy is fine, just knocks a lot when it reaches its end points. Not sure how to say it; like its top end and low end when it changes directions. Knocks a bit when moving more intensely. A little annoying, but its also possible to get use to something and tune it out, like the chirping smoke alarm or the train near your home. Im not willing to pay much for a new gen "quieter" handy any time soon when I just bout one 2 months ago for the first time. And I think a lot of people are like me, they just have to sell it on a lot of new features that I dont think will happen honestly. I just dont invision the SLR toy standing out much from the croud, it just going to be promoted like it does cause they want to $$ they are giving to handy to promote their privately owned product. Its just going to be a more expensive handy imo, but who knows, actually I hope Im wrong
sogman That is why I tried to tell them to put a heating mat on the outside of the toy. On the SR6 that is the biggest immersion booster. And they could separate themselves over the handy for the easiest cost.
At the moment it looks like a very similar product to the handy.
How does SLR know that Handy isn't making a better version right now. Maybe they will release it a week before SLR toy.
I guess we the consumers are the winners

please let it have power as opposed to recharging or as well as.
charging whilst using like meta 3 headset
i sucks when the battery goes flat
autoblow ultra type power supply but with battery charging capability for cable free more portable use.. and all sleeves.
prefer cable over battery. Imagine you get blue ball because your battery died. lmao
