I am unable to use AB function correctly it always shows the AB markers at the end of the video regardless of where I set them to be, also it does not save it if I leave and come back to the video. I am using Quest 3 with DeoVr 14.4.2655

I'm using the Quest 2 headset, streaming through DeoVR. Rather than the video playing, I'm getting an error message when trying to play an immersive flat video "Failed to load video #53235 Object reference not set to an instance of an object" The number varies depending on the video I'm trying to play, but the rest of the message is unchanged.

The other day I was viewing in DeovR, connected to the Handy. Scripts were initially streaming as usual, until suddenly most disappeared and haptics only available on a couple videos. Tried again today, and everything was working. Again, almost all videos no longer had haptic script button. Icon says no scripts yet available for this video. Checked subscription and scripts are active. Logged out/back in. Re installed DeoVr, but issue persists.

I've also started having an issue with mouseover thumbnail previews not working, as @inzane90 mentioned

It happens on Firefox 150.0 (64-bit) - ublock & dark reader are both disabled

Previews work fine on Chrome

For example this page, the first 8 videos = no working thumbnail previews
The first working thumbnails = 1 month ago (video: "Better Than Imagined"), did something change at that point?

All older thumbnails load fine

Correct, the video preview "gifs" on thumbnail mouseover do not work on some scenes

I did some digging and I believe it's due to some preview mp4 files being encoded with 10 bit - those currently do not work with Firefox: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1711812

jommy I think it's not Firefox as such but Firefox + its specific environment. For me it works fine with Firefox but certain combinations (Windows, GPU, codecs) may not. Most reasonable fix would be for SLR to only use 8-bit h.264 for maximum compatibility.

AlexSLR It's pretty inconvienient to move over to chrome just for this bug. I personally use Firefox for adult content to keep it away from everything else I have on Chrome.

If the issue really is that some previews are being encoded in 10 bit now, can't you just stick to 8 bit? What benefit does that bring to previews? I don't need HDR there. This never happened before a couple months ago, so I'd hope it's trivial to revert the encoding settings.

AlexSLR It's not related to Firefox. I'm using Chrome and get the exact same thing. I brought it up just a week or two ago in this thread and provided a bunch of info, and it was 'forwarded to the team'.

jommy macOS. 10-bit previews working fine in Firefox on both fairly recent as well as old Intel Macs.

I would think some preview mp4s are 10-bit because they are generated directly from the source videos which are increasingly 10-bit now. So making them 8-bit means for SLR messing with the pipeline and adding a re-encode step. Not a big deal but still something they probably try to avoid as long as the complaints stay below the impossible-to-ignore threshold.

SchnuppiLilac Tested and it does work on Firefox on my Mac. I even tried downloading the video files, and they do not play in the Windows video player (they do in VLC).

Looking into it more 10 bit h.264 is non-standard. This is Chrome and MacOS supporting non-standard videos, not anything wrong with Firefox.

And I doubt it would require another encode step, they're already doing that for the previews, they just need to change the profile in the existing encoding step.

When I'm trying to play a h265 video it almost always crashes. there are specific videos where it doesn't crash. One example of a video that doesn't crash is "Kitty in your room". Don't know if there's anything special about it. I notices that if I go to Deovr.com in the app and play a h265 video it also crashes.

I'm using the Valve Index. Streaming from sexlikereal.com in DeoVR 15.6.3746. I've tried switching the playback engine and enabling or disabling directshow.

EveSLR H264 videos do work normally. Though obviously they don't support the same resolutions. Two examples of videos that do crash are VRSUN- "Mary Venice On Top" and VRixxens - "The Night We Sinned"

Agreed, I missed that there must be some re-encoding already.

In the profile that had been used before for previews, fps could probably be reduced to 24 for the sake of efficiency.
