  • Downloaded Videos Crash Halfway Through (But not with VLC)

Hi, almost all of the videos that I have downloaded so far crash around halfway - 80% through the video. I use DEOVR on Quest 3. On Quest it crashes the player and I can't resume/rewind and if I try to play the file on my PC using the regular media player it stops around the same place and says "unsupported codec." I have followed steps from other forum posts by using a download manager on my PC then transferring the files to my Quest but they are still getting corrupted/broken. But if I open the files using a VLC media player on my PC, they play completely fine (I also saw this as a tip.)
So, how can I either download the files without them getting corrupted or is there some alternative media player for the Quest that I could use (since it works using the VLC players on PC)?
I saw other tips saying to download the "original format". I don't see that specifically labelled, does that just mean the highest quality? I'm a bit confused by that since some videos say for example "1920p" in their title but then there are options to download in 4k "optimal" and 8k. Why would I download in 8k if it's filmed in 1920p?

    pokeball Hi there,
Can you please send a link to a video that you have this issue with?
What is the DeoVR app version you use now?

Hi, I've had a bit more success using the download manager lately.
Here's an example of a video that I was having issues with:

So now my main question is, does it make a difference to download the video in original/8k resolution when the highest resolution I can choose when streaming is below 4k? You can check that video as an example. (If the video is shot in 4k, how does downloading it in 8k work? Does it make a difference?)

    Thanks!
