Announcement: Quest 1 stopped working with SLR

The Quest 1 headset no longer supports SLR. It was deprecated by Meta years ago and now it no longer supports SLR via the DeoVR app.

We understand that the change may impact your experience on Quest 1, but we want to reassure you that SexLikeReal (SLR) is still fully functional and offers both download and streaming services for your favourite content.

Additionally, there’s always the WebXR option available at sexlikereal.com/hub, which should work seamlessly with the Meta browser.

To get the most out of your VR experience, we recommend considering an upgrade to a newer headset that supports the latest technology. This will allow you to take full advantage of SLR’s unparalleled VR experience.

One or two minor software tweaks and you guys would be able to get it working. It would be a minor effort compared to some of the big initiatives you run from time to time

catflap I don't think this is an SLR problem so much as Meta no longer supporting the Q1. There are security updates that have to be incorporated to protect users and the Q1 no longer gets those updates as far as I know.

Has anyone tested if using DeoVR on Oculus Link still works with SLR on Quest 1? Its unfortunate that we are at the mercy of several third parties to watch our videos we purchased on hardware that we own. DeoVr and Meta arbitrarily limiting our ability to watch videos sucks!

SLR if you can find an app on sidequest that works with your website like deovr that would be great. DeoVR has a litany of poor reviews because they frequently "update" the app and make it actively worse.

I am not upgrading my Quest 1 until maybe the Quest 4 and will not be forced to do so by these underhanded tactics.

Also weird that I can watch the previews with no problem, but the purchased videos all say "error playing video file unsupported format"

What a very bad news ... I am very disappointed on your part because I have the feeling that no effort and it makes it simply pushes to upgrade VR headset. Horsely my annual subscription ends in October, I will not renew it after 2 years of good and loyal service.
I think you will lose many customers
Maybe you can make an effort on the price of the subscription to amortize the purchase of a new headset.

Like others have said, I'm disappointed. It's not like it's a video game, it's just video which was streaming fine before. Wouldn't really expect needing to upgrade a VR headset just for video playback.

I'll give the WebXR playback option a go. There's still a little bit of life in the Quest 1 before I consider shelling out for a new headset.

Such a shame as it was working just fine and previews work, so this is a decision rather than a technical limit.

Unfortunately I just renewed my sub, but wont be next time.

You could at least offer a Search ability on the hub for us

brads75 There are measures to be taken such as making a sidequest version of the app! There are not that many Quest 1 users but there are quite a few Quest 2 users. When the Quest 2 inevitably gets defunct like the Q1, SLR will have a choice. They can prepare in advance to ensure users can always access their bought and paid for videos using hardware they purchased through side apps, or they can potentially lose a large portion of their userbase due to a lack of respect to their paying customers
