  • Local Folder Crashes DEOvr on Newest Update

Hey yall, I never had this issue before, but with the latest update, video files in the local section of the DEOvr app fail to load when clicked on (just empty void on video playback screen), and if you try to change video forward or backward in the video playback, the app crashes...

these crashes happen about 75% of the time when you first try to play a video in the local folder...so it may take a couple tries to reproduce, but it makes the entire local folder largely unusable.

thank you for looking into this!

In my experience, this only happens for videos that are not fully downloaded

bamjus hi, could you please let me know which headset you are using? Is this steam or meta app?
Does this happen with all files or maybe some particular format?

Kieshi quest 2 headset, using the DEOvr app from meta. and it happens with all of my local videos (which are all mp4 files). thanks so much for your help

Kieshi I have noticed that this is happening now in the main VR vid player on SLR. Specifically on the second vid that is started. The first video chosen will play fine, but when you go back to the search area and try to start any other video, it will crash the entire DEOvr app. It seems to be the same problem, where launching a video (VR and in mp4 files in local folder) is crashing the app.

@Kieshi the random video functionality is also not autopopluating the scripts for their respective videos, saying there are no scripts available. but if you were to search and click on the vid individually, it auto populates the scripts.

as a result of the incredibly frequent crashes from the aforementioned bugs, the app has quickly become super unusable on the current DEOvr update

bamjus slr is primarily focused with streaming. We can't provide much of local playback support.
I'm sure deovr team is taking care of that

bamjus Since he says "Slr is primarily focused with streaming. We can't provide much of local playback support"
Then he shouldn't get mad when I say that there are way better vr players than SLR for local videos. Just look up "best VR player"
