Should we add BrainDance 6DOF gaussians on SLR?

Volumetric videos ie Gaussian splatting 6dof is the future with vr, or at last very big part of it. The stuff on braindance is good, even despite its relatively low resolution compared to this 8k stuff we are used to. Its a different way to interface and its basically still in its infancy, so you have to look at it that way. Also, sometimes you dont need 20k to have a good time. There is plenty here to overwhelm your senses as-is.

Not sure how its going to work integrating with braindance. Temporarily maybe. But seems SLR needs to do their own thing in the long run so we are not cornered into purchasing new content vs getting free part of our already paid slr account. Its always going to be a bottleneck for new users and turnoff overall.

You will know SLR are there when volumetric videos are part of the normal video rollouts you have access to on your paid account; when 6dof videos are uploaded onto the SLR main homepage "new uploads" like any other video with a volumetric tag. So you dont have to log into another site and pay $10 for a video or something. Despite the technical challenges and cameras/equipment which I know is a whole setup, this could be much more enticing and easier to maintain in the long run logistically compared to something like DRIVE and AI generating passthrough and all that. Though interesting, it would be obsolete quickly anyway soon as volumetric takes over, which it will.

sogman If you run the software on your pc instead of the headset, tethered using a quest link cable you get the full resolution all the time, its a noticeable improvement. The app running on the quest lowers the resolution of the parts of the subject a little further away from the headset and at least without actual eye tracking and true foveated rendering, its pretty annoying but the tethered PC full resolution is a better experience.

I hope they give us the option on the quest version to turn off and on this "power saver" feature at least.

Right now it's just a bad novelty, there are no funscripts, it's just not there yet.

I don't believe we can jump this tech... I'm fairly certain this will be a staple, once it's been iterated upon, as much as everything else.

Initially I thought some newer tech might surpass it, and we just jump this, but nah, this has to happen. It's too foundational.

This is perfect. 6dof scene is getting exciting with a healthy dose of competition.

I hope this doesn't affect SLR-BraindanceVR integration.

alphaRonaldo I want to use their site more, but honestly.. its really confusing. Some things free some things pay, seems most things pay.. but before signing up, i dont really know what Im signing up for. Its .. their website is kinda cluttered and weird. Lots of packages and cards and things released and things "not yet released" its kinda annoying to even look through and wonder about. Its just over complicated and weird the way they made their website but my only guess is this is for the reason im explaining, they dont have much content at the end of the day so kepping your head spinning makes it seem like there must be more. Must be their goal, for $24 a month, or 99 a year, or $300 lifetime? not so sure about it. That said, i did try a demo or two and I thought it was fun.

Also, Im sure you would know this, I used to have access to some other sites similar. The volumetric stuff. Voluverse I think it was, xxxdimension i think was the other. If you know of any more that work, similar to this, lmk. Im tight on money atm with my job, so if you know any free demo stuff would be appreciated! Im totally down for some free demo stuff even if its cneezy or incomplete, trying to avoid going back in time to pornhub haha

sogman Yup, they've had a messy interface for quite some time with the cyberpunk-esque look and feel. But they've slowly moved towards improving the content. It isn't there yet, seems to be a WIP. Like season 1 was just stills, season 2 went with dynamic motion, season 3 had slightly longer sessions, and season 4 appears to be more sex oriented hopefully.

Sadly I'm not aware of more such free 6dof content though. Will surely keep an eye out for em.

Subscribing to just BrainDance doesn’t give you much at the moment, but if you do BrainDance + SLR, or subscribe here through SLR and link it with BrainDance, you actually get way more value." And cross promotion, and I'd be using it way more and giving my crazy feed back how to make it better, lol. 😂🤯👁

Curious if any Jav/Japanese studios have looked into 6dof scenes. I have a feeling they'd explore the crap out of it and it's exactly what we need to know what sticks.

At this point, if anyone wants to really get this gaussian splatting up off the ground and get people interested in it, they need to lower their profit bar and draw people in first. Idea: Just include a subscription to braindance to slr members, and leave it at that because word of mouth is the best kind of advertising. If braindance had a proper catalogue, then I would not be saying this. They have like 3 videos.. honestly now. Hate to sound trumpy lol, but braindance has a super small catalog and it could grow so much faster if they made a better deal. Braindance subscription should be "unlocked" and linked to SLR. Its a win win to both companies in the long run because as it is now, its stagnant at best, and causing people to loose interest and have a soured view of the tech as times goes on. It will be seen as dead tech for all the wrong reasons.

So yeah, just simply unlock the braindance subscription. From there, people will either join SLR to get to braindance gaussian splatting content, or they will never access it, but braindance will still get a little cut of the slr membership regardless. It will incentivize growth. I mean, SLR could be a leader in this but right now it sounds like they dont have much dedication or interest in it.

BrainDance 6DOG looks interesting but I just can't be arsed to signup or register for an additional service to check it out

If it was available in the SLR app with a free sample clip then i'd 100% check it out

If it was something I enjoyed and I could easily pay for it in the SLR app, I might do - but i'm not signing up with another separate service, I already have too many to keep track of

Agree with others it should be integrated with SLR app/deo vr if possible. Not just for the ease of access and skipping the need to sub to another service like others mentioned, but because the existing UI just sucks. Also SLR could help bring better scenes than braindances not very interesting solo girl chopped up content.

In all the 6DOF content I’ve watched, I’ve never seen any eye contact. You can twist and turn the girl all you want — she always seems to look the other way. I’m wondering if this is even feasible, since there’s not one single camera she could look at. But it’s definitely something that needs figuring out.
