Here are the things I'm noticing that are wrong with many passthrough scenes:
-The scale is off, causing the user to make their own edits (a recent example is the new Nelly Kent scene). This also causes unwanted other issues because moving sliders too much eventually makes the whole image disproportionate and not correct.
-The male performer's position just doesn't make sense and the body is too high up and and the penis is too far away. I don't know why but I'm assuming they don't test this at all before filming. First of all, no one has sex like that fully lying down. Usually if a girl is on top, the man is lying down but also has the upper half of his body bent (like sitting up in bed watching TV). Which brings me to my next point...
-It's too hard to line up the penis correctly when the position is like this. The penis is always lightyears away like this and it makes no sense. When I'm in VR I look down and my torso and penis are directly below me close, my penis isn't in front of me sticking in mid-air like many recent passthrough videos have. This is a glaring issue in my opinion. Yes it can be fixed somewhat by adjusting the values in DeoVR but when things are so out of whack, eventually you get undesired results, which then brings me to another point...
-The male body is floating too high up. This causes me to use the height and pitch value in DeoVR to get it as close as I possibly can to match my own penis. The height has to be lowered to such a point usually to make it believable. The problem with this is that when you do this unfortunately everything starts to become not to scale and the female model's head begins to squish in which looks awful. So at the moment you have to balance it the best you can but we shouldn't have to do this.
As a person who sees the value in passthrough this is a shame. Not sure if I'm the only one but it seems to be a trend as of late and I'm hoping SLR takes notice and takes our feedback seriously.
