Is Your Quest 3 Glitching?

Hey everyone,

Has anyone else been experiencing glitches with the Quest 3 lately?

I just encountered an overheating warning for the first time ever. I watch a lot of VR videos and use PT extensively, and I've never seen this warning before. It says the system is overheating and advises taking it off to prevent damage. I've seen this happen with the Quest Pro on live streams, but I've never seen it on the Quest 2 or Quest 3 until now.

Additionally, my Quest 3 has been going into sleep mode while I'm watching VR videos. It even went into sleep mode while I was in the quest menu. It seems to go into sleep mode randomly.

When this happens, for example, if I'm watching PT and it randomly goes into sleep mode, when I turn it back on, the edges of the PT screen are warped. I have to put it into sleep mode or restart it to fix the warp.

Has anyone else experienced this with their headset? I noticed these issues after the new update. Before the update, it was working fine.

Vrsumo2017 I've never seen this warning before. It says the system is overheating and advises taking it off to prevent damage.

I got back in the headset and noticed I had my brightness to max, I always keep it low like a quarter low. Maybe that's why it over heated, idk 🤷‍♂️

Anyone keep their q3 brightness at max and get overheating warnings?

I had this warning with my Q2 all the time. It started right after unboxing and I have seen it many times after. But I did not notice any actual damage to the device during the 15 months I was using it. Since I never heard anyone else mentioning this, I always thought it was an issue of my specific device.

On Q3, I can't remember that I ever had this warning or any of the other things you mentioned until now. Are you on the Quest OS PTC release channel or on the regular one? I am on PTC for quite a while now.

Wow really, I never got this warning on q2 and I'd watch vrp, maybe games too for hours. Never got it.

I just recently turn it on to get the new update like a week or more ago, but today was the first time ever getting this warning.

PabloSLR I had no issues myself on Q3 with the PTC so far. I was just thinking that there's a possibility that the OS versions in the PTC and those that are rolled out later in the main RC could be slightly different, but that's just a wild guess. I am on v66 for quite a while but in the build numbers there are like more than 15 additional digits, so there's room for variability.

Hairsational Go into system settings and down to power, the display off is probably set low to 1 or 2 mins so if there is little to no head movement the display will go off after a few mins, I set mine to an hour.

Sometime early this month, I lost Wi-Fi connection and couldn't get it to connect until I turned it off and on. Since then my Update Before Power Off doesn't work anymore. The headset just stays on with that screen. I have to now deselect the option and power off after every time I recharge.

Haven't gotten the overheating warning on the Q3 but now the battery drains faster and I'll get a slow charging message every time no matter what cable I use and no matter if I'm charging directly or through the battery headstrap. Also it doesn't always shuts off when I power it off. It would frequently say it's updating and it would shut off when it's done, but then the next time I use it I'll find it still on (and the power drained).
