  • New Little Caprice '8K' video is relatively poor AI upscaling?

Opinions? It's getting that Topaz cartoonish look in my opinion. We're very likely better off with the original 5k or whatever it would be than to have a fake '8K' cartoon version. Should release the original version. I didn't see the original comments on the video. I suppose that may be why they are turned off? Other people noticed before me I'd assume.

I think I'm responsible for them suddenly disabling comments across all their scenes - ooops! I tried to be nice, said that LC is amazing as always. I said it looked like from the scaling that it was filmed on a Canon R5C with stock dual lens (bad scaling) and the focus is on the guy's nipples, so everything else is soft, then they used an unsharp filter or aggressive sharpening to try to get back some detail which obviously hasn't worked. I also suggested maybe SLR could help them with the tech side in future. Very soon after my comment, all comments were disabled. I think LC and her husband are understandably sensitive to criticism as they do everything themselves and put a lot of work in. Also, they want to sell other scenes on their website so don't want people deterring VR sales by saying the quality isn't good.

I'm pretty sure it's from an 8k source, just poorly shot / edited. The other solo scene she did looks much better and doesn't have the same issues or heavy use of filters.

It's easy to think that if you go ahead and spend money on gear, you'll automatically produce a great quality scene. If only that were true! We all know how bad big studios screw up the production side all the time, even with the best cameras available and tons of experience, it's a highly technical craft.

        [deleted] I mean, feedback is important. I try to be constructive and sometimes the response is positive, usually the comments are ignored or occasionally the producers get super defensive. But if we don't speak up, nothing changes.

            vrpicasso the only change that will probably get made is the studio will pull their content from the site. People have been asking for Little Caprice for years here. They oblige and then some random decide to give their "feedback" generally causing a deterioration in the relationship. You already have a person Kolaches liking the first person's comment on this thread. That same person was responsible for insulting Little Caprice's partner and she had to deal with him directly.

            if you don't like the quality of the content give it a miss or subscribe to their site if you want better quality stuff.

                theHobbit We've been asking for professionally produced content. This is not an improvement over scenes they released in like 2018 or whenever, so where's the benefit? Some random giving feedback? That's the entire purpose of the comments section.

                    vrpicasso yeah, generally all comments should be turned off on all videos in my view. You just get a handful of the toxic users here saying how much they don't like tattoos, fake tits etc. It's generally not constructive. It's up to Little Caprice on what content they want to share. Probably the avenue is that if you want better quality content, subscribe to them and pay for it if you are fan. I think she has pointed people to this route for the few comments I saw.

                    Really nice of her if you ask me, how many other stars will directly interact like this.

                        theHobbit nah, hard disagree. VR is a very technical medium and studios benefit from user feedback. Just because there are toxic individuals, does not invalidate the opportunity to express opinions on the production. Personal insults and comments on looks could be banned / moderated but if the studio enables comments they've invited feedback.

                        "If you want better quality content, subscribe to them"? No, if you want more content, sub to them. They are not deliberately making poor quality content for non subscribers, they just need some help on the technical side.
