I think its not right SLR to keep the AI PT just for current membership users ! Once you pay for membership you get the right to download specific number of vids . So if these vids are Alpha PT you can watch them locally whenever you want. The same MUST be and with the AI PT vids . But SLR continue to be greedy and and they extort you to pay for membership anytime when you want to watch an AI PT vid . Sorry but someone needed to state the obvious and seems this is me ...
I bet there is NO any technical issue these AI PT vids to be watched locally if SLR allow this ! And bet very soon will be developed alternative FREE software for this - then SLR will be the big looser again ...

    boboweb I mean, they made the ai so they own the rights to it. I don't see what the big deal is? I do agree that eventually competitors and coders will make something that runs locally. AI is advancing at an extremely fast rate and the ability to rotoscope real time is a valuable asset for more uses than just porn. It's only a matter of time.

    Running locally would definitely be ideal in the future as locally is always better. However, I've no idea the computing power or bandwidth requirement to run this kind of AI, as it might be more trouble than it's worth.

    Another solution is to just film more PT videos with the plain backgrounds.

      boboweb Dude ... what an incredibly selfish and entitled take. Look, I'd love for local AI PT to work as well, but being so rude, insulting, and demanding is not helpful or fair to them.

        boboweb I'm all for consumer rights but this I feel like is pretty unreasonable. The PT AI isn't just a new video file you can download. It's a filter. If they let you "download" it they'd essentially be letting you download a master key to do PT AI on any video and that's something no good business would let happen after spending so much time and money developing this proprietary tech. (From what I understand/assume)

              It is very quiet in this thread these days. I wonder why.. it could be because almost entire vredging library has been updated to passthrough?

                boboweb In my opinion, Ai pass-through is a major reason to pay for an SLR - it takes a lot of skill. Even with several commercial programs for background-subject separation and numerous background removal libraries on GitHub, they don't come close to the level of an SLR (and I've been using many of them for over a year).

                Sure, if I edit the footage in short 1-2 minute chunks and use Da Vinci Resolve's Magic Mask or After Effects' RotoBrush, the quality is better, but it takes longer than I thought.

                In this situation, letting people download the Ai passthrough is counter to the algorithmic investment SLR has made. We're losing a lot of money on illegal downloads, so it's only right that the Ai passthrough is not available for download, but only in the SLR app DeoVR. That's the prerogative of the people who created the technology.

                    koreanman I agree that ai passthrough is an amazing addition. However as a long time paying customer I find the argument: we don't like piracy so we are going to be anti consumer to paying customers by forcing them into our walled garden annoying and I think eventually probably even counter productive. Just look at how well that worked for the obtuse digital rights management of some JAV companies for instance.

                      We keep generating AI PT for the whole library. There is no sense to post requests.
                      I think we have already covered the most popular and the most requested videos. All others will be PTed soon.

                          boboweb "I think its not right SLR to keep the AI PT just for current membership users !" , Are you sure that even applies, in theory I have two or three Passthrough AI videos that I own but, in practice for over a month I haven't been able to even view the "Passthrough AI" feature of those videos... yet anyone with a Quest seems to be able to. I'm more than certain it isn't exclusive to Premium subscribers (or Lifetime Premium members), as I don't have that type of account. The bigger issue is IF, When, and at what cost will SLR offer that option of purchase in the future since they already let users purchase SLR AI generated Sex Toy Scripts (despite of any piracy claims countering those concerns). Its more of an issue that some users EVEN paying users haven't had a real solution provided to resolve them being unable to view these "Passthrough AI" videos.

                          Note: I have SteamVR headset (Pimax) and (Meta) Oculus Rift CV1 neither running their native store apps, Valve's Steam Store DeoVR AND Oculus/Meta PC store DeoVR, has the ability to view the toggle that turns AI Pass on yet, all 'other' types of passthrough work on both, Chromakey & Alphapacking.

                              bruce Just how many videos are left to process (ballpark guess)? Lots more or almost near the end of the back catalog?

                                    Nope, that logic isn't sound as SLR has already allowed a 'unique' IP commodity to leave their hands already, they allow downloadable Sex Toy Scripts (generated by their own AI algorithm), so they already lose any argument that can be made against it... assuming that in fact was 'their own' argument against downloads instead of someone else's. Now, if on the other hand if they had only allowed streaming the AI Sex Toy Scripts (instead of allowing downloading them) then they be similar to the JAV/Gravure (Japanese Idols) studios in that they'd be able to turn off the spout at any time (usually because of JAV performer Rights, of removal).

                                      Silly-Sausage Thanks though, that isn't quite what I mean, I meant that it shows the videos as having Passthrough AI symbol, but when playing the video in the Passthrough UI panel it only shows Chromakey and Alphapacking toggles not one for AI Passthrough, and for at least a month this has been a problem, worst is as mentioned the other types of Passthrough just simply work as intended, which is how I KNOW I'm totally missing out on the awesome work down to make Passthrough AI amazing! I already have a support ticket with no new news just that they'll get back to me whenever an update on a solution is available.
