Hotel workarounds

I have SLR account with scripts, meta 2 and getting a handy delivered. First time use is going to be a hotel for 2 week work trip (with probably bad internet). What’s the best workaround if it’s hotspots/predownload etc. seems I still need WiFi connection to run scripts, will this work on hotspot if I have the vr video local?

Hey, getting this to work with a hotel WiFi can definitely be a tricky task, considering that hotel WiFi usually has dual-band WiFi. What I can suggest here is to try to use a mobile hotspot (if doable of course) for both the headset and the HapticsConnect app.

Also worth mentioning is that usually hotels tend to block adult content websites so it may be worth considering downloading some videos to your headset and then watching them locally.

There were some instances where users were able to use the content without any issues but this really depends on a case-by-case basis.

[deleted] hotels seem to throttle adult content without a VPN. Downloading works but most of SLR's best features only work via streaming.

1.) VPN might help shitty hotel wifi speeds, but will probably still be too slow to stream highest res.
2.) Get [https://shop.us.dlink.com/products/d-link-wifi-extender-ac750] this and an ethernet cable.. some hotels have a port you can plug into it, set up your own wifi network and its much faster. Protip on this one; hit or miss, but if the tv in the room is a smart tv with netflix etc. enabled, the ethernet cable connected directly to the back of the TV will usually be unthrottled. plug that cable into the dlink and BAM you've got a private wifi network with great speeds.
3.) Consider using XBVR to stream your predownloaded content directly to the headset. For this to work, the headset and computer will need to be connected to the dlink.
4.) Get a quest3.. really great upgrade, and passthrough content is starting to get to the point where its worth watching.
