I see it has been 21 days since @VelvetEcho replied that it is still being worked on.
2 months since OP posted the initial issue...

naughtysandwich One girl i've actually troubleshooted this with and that is having consistent and constant lag issues for everone watching is "sensualkattt" - if you need to see for yourself.
Did you try watching her VR stream on vr.stripchat? I don't have lagging issues on that site but SLR cams still have issues
So might not necessarily be a dreamcam issue, or it might just be an issue caused by dreamcam that is only affecting SLR?
jommy thanks I'll check there...
Though I dont want to move away from SLR - this is my preferred site, but the cam lag/freezing issues is just ruining it!
The issue previously was i had bought a lot of tokens on SLR, so was not eager to go to other sites as i'd need to spend again on other platforms for new tokens...
I have now dumped my tokens, so maybe SLR needs to feel their users leaving before they will actually look at the root cause and fix it!
The camgirls themselves are feeling helpless with this (and obviously they're not technical) so they just think/hope it will solve itself...
In the mean time many MANY users are just not watching the laggy cams, or dont want to tip/go private at all, due to this.
This situation really just makes me mad, and if it is not resolved i WILL stop supporting SLR after many years of VR...
will see...
naughtysandwich Facts, for now use other platforms until they fix it
Hopefully not long before they fix it and upgrade the SLR cam interface because it's quite lacking especially for filtering/finding models, or even adding to favs - the list does not update properly
So far we were able to identify and issue with an individual stream martina_mayers which is caused by unstable internet on performer side.
Please let me know
Thanks @doublevr
I've tried downloading the BETA DeoVR channel client on Quest 3, but that version just crashes on app start, so can't test if it is better.
As I mentioned in my post, a good example I've seen where this is a consistent issue is 'sensualkattt'. So this should be a good place to test\start.
In testing this stream, I see lag even just on her SLR stream in any browser.
On Quest 3 DeoVR app, the stream opens perfect with no lag, but then a few seconds in (random) it hard-freezes, or goes super slow-mo and then rubber-bands, but never recovers on its own.
Same model, on Index\Vive it never freezes, but the lag is same as on browser, and is unbearable.
On all other streaming services for this cam, there are basically no lag\freezing like this.
I've drilled down with details into this cam because I know testing an issue requires reproducibility, but it isn't limited to her stream only.
Thanks for checking - pls let us know how we can test or what else we can try...
I checked some last night and these ones were freezing:
SUSAN7
godess_in_love
AnnyHizzle
irina_harp
There were more but I stopped keeping notes, it happens a lot!
@naughtysandwich I just checked sensualkattt now and it is constantly freezing/lagging on SLR cams, but perfectly fine on vr.stripchat
I'm streaming to UK if it makes a difference, maybe a CDN issue? I can't even get SLR cams to load on the PC right now but they are accessible on VR headset (pico 4)
Thanks jommy
I've received feedback on my tickets and in Discord, and looks like they are now actually trying to resolve the issue.
No ETA though.
Like you mentioned, I am now using vr.stripchat BUT it also isnt perfect. The main issue there is you have to use the browser interface, and the quality is thus lacking severely over SLR/DeoVR streams.
That said, that platform integrates all it's cam site functions into VR, so you can complete goals, have private chat, and so many more functions and things to make the user/performer experience amazing...
If only they had an app... i mean, game over man...
But I still prefer SLR WHEN it is working, just for the quality, and ability to switch to normal videos when done with cams.
To the SLR guys ( @doublevr / @VelvetEcho), please check Jommy's post above to see more examples.
And man, you GOTTA up the cam functionality to compete in DeoVR...
it is seriously lacking funcionality, now that my eyes have been opened.

Yeah vr.stripchat has a really nice interface
B button = opens cam browser but doesn't close current cam session
Mouse over cam thumbnails for live view - SLR uses some old cached 5 second clip
With mouseover live thumbnails on vr.stripchat I can check 10+ cams before I can check 2 on SLR, not to mention how often the SLR page errors out and requires a refresh when navigating..
But i'll give props to SLR, I think every single cam that shows as Live is actually live and viewable! There must be 10%+ on vr.stripchat that show live but do not load. Sometimes those very cams work on SLR but not vr.stripchat - some weird bug that needs fixed
Thx guys for a follow up. The update is coming in some few weeks from now
Thank you for the update. It's been a while I'm having this issue too and it started to get frustrating to continuously enter and exit a room whenever there's a freeze.
I thought the SLR guys might update the post, but i see it hasnt happened.
Got feedback on my ticket that they updated the app(s) beginning of this week - so took some time to test, as the performers we highlighted before that had issues were not online yet.
From both my and @jommy 's testing of numerous performers, the hard-freezing and major lag issue seems to be resolved on the new version of the app(s)
There is however still a hitch - it seems that, in cases where previously it would freeze/lag, now the screen goes black, the loading spinner turns for a second or 2 on the black screen, and then the video resumes. As if catching-up to the live stream (rubber banding somehow). This happens relatively frequently, and seems to still affect most performers.
So it would still need further fix/improvement, but thanks SLR doublevr for getting a fix out for the major problem that was severely affecting the platform. Please keep us updated on further improvements
Hey naughtysandwich, appreciate the additional information.
I have passed the findings to the developer team and I'll let you know once I hear back.
Thank you!
Hey @naughtysandwich, I’ve heard back from the team, and they’ve confirmed that this is the solution we have for now regarding the cams. Unfortunately, if the original streams are bad or slow, there’s not much more they can do to improve it.
