  • I miss the 2021/2022 SLR Orignals videos

When I remember, 2021, 2022 was the goldest period for SLR Originals.
There was a lot of innovations in terms of contents.
At that period, there was more diversity in terms of male performers: Two legendary performers are gone: Isiah Maxwell who just won the AVN male actor award and Oliver Davis (He is now a legend on Wankz, PORNcorn, Badoinkvr, VRbangers, VRHUSH, Realjam ...

There was NON pov scenes,
There was a gloryhole scene
There were interracial scenes ...

I know some people here worship Nash but him being the only non-passthrough director left is brutal.

Every scene is the same thing now - John Strong with some young girl, minimal set-up, armpits, creampie, done. Even the "freeuse" scene just turned into the typical Nash formula after a few minutes.

I agree, for me the passtrough video are shit, I never watch them.
At the end of my menbership I will try the competing site.
Watching their trailer I can tell I will like their original video more and they have a lot of other studio too.
The only bad thing is they don't have deovr or a similar app to watch their content.

I don't say that to trashtalk SLR, I hope video that I like more will come and I don't have to cancel menbership.
And also I might be the only one who think like that because a lot of peopole enjoy the content here but it is just not my style I guess...

Why do you think PT is shit? Do you have a Quest 3 or anything with similar/better PT capability? For people without such headsets I can understand. It's like when you'd read on NaughtyAmerica people complain that there was only a VR version of a certain scene and not a 2D one. Sure, without a capable headset that makes sense. But damn, in that case just do yourself a favor and get one πŸ™‚

I personally am the opposite now. When I first tried the PT om my quest 3 I didnt even really like it neither. Only when I found out that it works way better for me after switching 6DOF to off (with it, the virtual image just bounces around in the room for me, lol, never really in the place where I want it) I started to like it. I guess I also kind of felt overwhelmed with the PT options at first too, but now I realize you just don't even have to touch those (apart from the options to move the image around to line up the male talent with yourself) And honestly after a few scenes I can now say I'm even kind of disappointed when a good scene does NOT have PT. A scene with PT is just so much more immersive!!!

And sure, the PT on the Quest 3 isnt even perfect, it's quite grainy for example. But it's already awesome and just thinking about how this will be in future iterations, where PT will surely (soon?) become as good as watching with your own eyes, damn, this is going to become even better!!

There's no doubt in my mind that PT is the future of porn. And I'm really happy that SLR is leading this revolution!!

I have a Q2, and can definitely imagine what its like with a Q3 or even AVP (if it'll ever work)
PT is cool and has a lot of potential for future applications

2 things are holding it back for me:
-alignment is often bad, probably due to my height
-you are limited to your house/room

ver882 I agree, but luckily it looks like RealJamVR got us covered for Feb 11th with GogoFukme and Baby Gemini

harigeharry Why do you think PT is shit? Do you have a Quest 3 or anything with similar/better PT capability?

Why is it that whenever someone says they don't like PT, the very first assumption is that they must not have a proper headset? I have a Quest Pro and a Quest 3, and I still think PT is shit. Alignment issues suck, scaling sucks, the direction on most of them is bad. And no, the generated backgrounds after the fact don't make up for it - no one want to see a model full of clipping issues bouncing an a detached phantom dick. IN my opinion, they a waste of half the releases.

It's like the PT [people are in a cult or something, and they can't even perceive all the problems because they are so excited to imagine a girl in their room.

Wendigo I was just honestly interested to find out why someone would not like PT. I absolutely love it and was just trying to understand why some others dont seem to like it.

You're talking about 'alignment issues'. But isn't that a thing in a VR scene too? I find regular VR way less immersive if the male actor is quite differently aligned. So IMHO this is an issue for both VR as PT, although of course for PT it's even a bigger thing, agreed there. Studio's just should get this right when shooting a scene.

And what do you mean with "the direction on most of them is bad"?

It's like the PT [people are in a cult or something, and they can't even perceive all the problems because they are so excited to imagine a girl in their room.

This site is called "sex like real". And that's just what PT is IMHO, it's another step to make it everything more immersive, more realistic. And yes, that results in more excitement, at least here πŸ™‚

Hairsational Well if you think about it: why is 2D porn even arousing to us men? We see a photo/video of some couple having sex and our dicks get hard. Why even is that? I'm not a psychologist but it's probably that our brains are wired to think that we're next up, just when our mouths start watering when see some delicious food in preparation of the food that our brain assumes we're going to consume. Then VR came around and suddenly we were there in the scenes ourselves, most of the times as the one actually having sex. Which I think adds extra arousal. But I think the mere idea that is actually ME having sex and not some couple out there causes extra arousal and I think that's what PT does. I don't care about my surroundings, but PT makes me feel it's actually ME banging that chick. And it does that much better than VR. With VR it may still feel somewhat like it's some other guy banging the girl, I think that's mainly what PT does for me, convincing my brain it's actually happening, I'm actually banging that chick.

harigeharry it’s a great source for thoughts for a brain to the point it gets crazy. VR just makes it deeper. A strong advantage of flat is a huge variety of faces and fantasies. SLR cookie cutter producers are no fun. We really want to depart from it

doublevr Cool, didnt even think of that. But yeah in the end you're going to want best of both worlds indeed. You want to be convinced that it's actually you banging that girl but it's going to be awesome if you can be transported into any kind of scene, what VR indeed does better than PT. With future technology that's going to be possible indeed at some point.

So maybe the holy grail here is not PT of the girl into your room, but PT of yourself into the scene. That combined with the Volucap PT technology you talked about in that other thread of both the female actor and your own image in any kind of scene you could think of .... now that would really be mind blowing.

One day it's going to be really just that: sex like real. And then with any girl in any kind of setting. Damn, I was born too early πŸ™‚

With VR, you are tricking my peception by replacing the whole visual field with a 3D alternative. With AR (PT), you are placing a poorly-scaled, oversaturated, semi-opaque model with clipping issues in my semi-poorly rendered passthrough representation of my room, and asking the rest of my senses to believe it. It's a MUCH bigger ask, and the tech just isn't up to it yet - it's just a gimmick right now.

                  harigeharry I'm not a psychologist

I am. Neurobiological basis of perception is my area of research. Here is a good article to explain why porn works:

                  https://www.vice.com/en/article/wnjka4/neuroscientist-david-linden-explains-porn

In a nutshell, we are wired to pay much more attention to outside-generated stimuli than to self-generated stimuli. Watching/looking at any kind of porn activates the area of the visual system that registers touch, similar to your actually being touched. The visual system activation somewhat overrides the knowledge that you are actually touching yourself - at least enough to make it more pleasurable than masturbation without it. VR is powerful because with a 3D headset and spatial headphones, you are feeding high-quality sense data that mimics two senses (sight and sound) remarkably well - so much so that it overrides the knowledge that you are actually touching yourself (done right, we tend to call this immersion). And - if you add a device like the Handy which syncs that touch/stroke with the visual and auditory information, you are overriding 3 of the five senses (touch, visual, and auditory). Pulling back from that total immersion to an imperfectly rendered PT model who doesn't match the lighting, shadows, color pallete, or scale of the room, where other distracting activity may be also taking place (like your compter monitor, for example) and the overall lack of clarity in the PT representation of the room, and the possibility that you can see you hand/toy masturbating leads to the effect being severly diminished. Given that everyone's environment is different, and that people watch in many positions, it is exceedingly difficult to get a PT model to match everyone's possible surroundings/position. With VR, the male might not natch exactly youir position, but at least she matches the rest of the environment she is in - she doesn't position change and suddenly start floating in space with a disembodied cock as happens so often in PT videos.

Wendigo But did you even try it yourself? Because your comments make no sense to me at all. On my Quest 3 there are no 'clipping issues' at all, at least not on the natively shot PT scenes (of course on the AI generated ones there are). And "semi opaque" ? Did you even try the SLR ones? your surrounding is not top notch rendered, I'll agree to that but the PT models are. Nothing "Semi opaque" there. Although there ARE some scenes from other studios that are poorly shot and could be described as "semi opaque" indeed. But the SLR natively shot scenes dont have clipping issues and they're super clear and high quality.

I'm not saying all is perfect. The outside world on the Quest 3 is grainy. And in some scenes it's hard to align yourself with the main actor, unless you really zoom in for example or really move the male actor up/down which will sometimes distort the image so that it becomes really bad. But these are just studio errors and don't really happen all the time. And again, even in VR scenes (non PT) if the male actor is really way too low/high that's also immersion breaking. It's just something studio's need to get right anyway.
