Since the last update its hardly usable because my gpu usage (1080 ti) has gone sky high. Before it used a fraction of my GPU, now its capped out. When i use virtual desktop videos will stream but they're choppy, but when i use oculus air link its unplayable. However when i use heresphere the performance is fine using a fraction of my gpu as normal. I would question if deovr streaming was using SLRs servers to render and now its using local GPU because my performance in heresphere is as always, its just deovr that has changed (sure would be nice if i could stream SLR videos in heresphere). Though im not sure why it would work fine in heresphere and not deovr except for some annoying reason when i use air link my gpu usage is 25% with core clock maxed out just on the desktop, but using virtual desktop it uses less than 10% with core clock at minimum on desktop. Virtual desktop is good for games, but for SLR i prefer air link...but thats a separate issue that sucks.

Thanks for your feedback!
We are not using servers for real-time rendering, that would be even slower with such resolutions 😃
The issue seems to be caused by some changes in Oculus SDK, since this is the only major component that was changed in recent update.
We are still investigating the problem and will address it as soon as possible.

I meant the recent update in deovr (i saw an update when i opened deovr). Was there an update to the quest 3 in the last 3 days? Thats the last time i used it and i didnt see an update.

gotta add another comment to this, Not using quest 3 (Pimax 8kx)but am running a 1080ti, As soon as i click a video Deo shts the bed, and actually causes SteamVR to sht the bed over a bit of time too, and even if i close deovr before it causes SVR to crash It still leaves SVR in a pretty unresponsive state. All other apps run as normal and don't cause issues with SVR which is why im prety certain it's Deo doing it.

We're still waiting for the devs to get back with any new updates about this.

ThorOfAsgard Still waiting, I expect an update from the team to be posted on the forum once this is resolved.

I have a pretty powerful setup and its basically unusable for the first time in 2 years. Its completely unusable through SteamVR after the update unfortunately. I'm still able to stream videos on a PC monitor through a web browser (2D) no issues. Happy to wait, but any update from a dev?

I am also still waiting they fix this ! It took too too long ...

Sorry guys for the long wait, we just need some additional patience until the developers and the QA team are sure that there are no issues whatsoever before the release of the new version.

    8 days later

same problem here, using oculus rift s, gpu rtx 2070, with DeoVR App. after a few minutes of streaming framerate begins to drop. DeoVR becomes slow. its been like that since last week. before that everything was fine. please help, thanks

Damankogel38 DeoVR team is going through a leadership boost. They expect strong engineers to join the team and lead the effort

Finally had an update yet it still isnt fixed. Its been a long time that it doesnt work well. It'd be nice if we didnt have to rely on 1 application.

ThorOfAsgard Hey, can you please advise if you're experiencing exactly the same issues as you described in the original post?

I was looking forward to the update, but no change for me either, still DeoVR App becomes very slow after 3-5min of streaming. vr video playback has less than 10 fps. not watchable or enjoyable anymore.

Same, I don't have the stats but my picture starts out fine and then gets very slow/powerpointy. I hope this isn't some ploy to get me/us to upgrade to Meta Quest 3. I bet passthrough is way better for MQ3 but I'm still willing to watch full-color passthrough women on top of incongruous b/w backgrounds for quite a while, given what I've paid so far lol

Hey guys, I am passing this information to the developers but based on their feedback it is hard to replicate the issue from their end, but they are working on it though (this means the issue is still present in the v13.14).

As for TG31415 and Damankogel38 , can you please send us the graphic card models that you are using?

Also, if any of you can send us logs from the device, video examples where this is happening (resolution, codec used), anything that will help us replicate this issue it would be very much appreciated!
