Quest 3 will easily play SLR downloaded content from a local network via Samba. DeoVR is good for streaming but cannot yet access local networked files. Pigasus and Skybox apps both do so, and do it well, as the Quest 3 even has WiFi 6 built-in for better access speed.
I use multiple NAS and USB drives that are PC attached and have no issues with high quality playback of downloaded 8K content. I have never used the Quest web browser to access files.
What's wrong with deovr?

Deovr's shuffle seems to be broken.
Quest3 , 512GB
For about 3 weeks, DeoVR doesnt work properly
The "watch later" playlist used to show the most recent additions at the end of the playlist, now they are shown at the beginning.
This is not a showstopper - but if you remove a video from the playlist within the DeoVR app, the "next and previous" buttons no longer get you to the right video. If feels to me like the changes you make in the app are either ignored or overwritten from the server, meaning that "remove from watch later" scenes keep showing up
Anyway its a bit of a hassle
My issue is with my "watch later" playlist.
1 ) I have about 400 videos on the playlist, and once every couple of days, I log into the SLR website and I add all the new SLR content (using the "watch later" button in the so I can watch it later. )
2 ) Open DeoVR (logged into DeoVR with my SLR account). Note that all the newly added videos are at the front of the playlist (this is now intended behavior, so fine)
3 ) In the deovr player, click the first video of the list, and click next a few times over a few videos
4 Now exit the video and you will see the "watch later" playlist
5 ) Remove a few videos by clicking "Dont watch later"
4 ) Now go into viewing mode again and click back and forth between videos - the "removed" videos still show up as you click around, and the new playlist it no longer seems to follow a sequence
