Colored condoms would not work. You'd create a fuzzy dick hole which is just going to look weird and will never match up to the user's dick, which, btw, is either covered by a Handy or by the user's hand. Plus dick is usually in shadow so you can't even key it - green screen is lit. I keep seeing calls for keyed-out dicks but I don't think these guys have really thought it through, it would be a terrible idea. Really, really terrible. Maybe do it once, to prove how shit it is, but don't use a model the rest of us want to see filmed properly.

Has the Q3 passthrough improved with updates or is it still a bit wobbly ?

I'm on Quest 2 and at times in a dark room astounded by the technology especially the Alpha Passthrough scenes.

If i was a youth again i don't think i would leave my bedroom without the imprints of my headset and that flushed look of enjoying my favourite girls.

Q3 pass through is miles better than Q2. That being said, still has much to improve. It doesn’t really look that clear, even in bright rooms—still pretty grainy, and the passthrough videos themselves aren’t really there either in terms of the way they are shot and making it immersive. It’s a cool effect but it’s not “omg game changing”. If it was people wouldn’t even care about regular normal vr porn anymore.

Hurto11 Cheers for the info, that's pretty much confirmed the feedback that i 've been getting regarding the Q3. People don't seem to be blown away by this upgrade, but obviously that may change with a firmware update.

Hurto11 Hmm I would say it's game changing. Even though you're right, it's not perfect, the room is pretty grainy, still, it's just so much more immersive in my experience. But yeah, already looking forward to Meta releasing a highend headset. Or the Samsung/Google headset hopefully coming later this year.

Silly-Sausage upgrading to Q3 for the color passthrough alone is totally worth it IMO. Is it like looking through your own eyes? No. But it's leaps and bounds better than Q2 in that it's about 60% LESS grainy, it's in COLOR and it has a DEPTH SENSOR, giving you 3D awareness in your room. I could never go back to Q2, or even my Pico 4 (which is for sale if anyone's interested.)

I love the Pico 4, when my q3 runs out of battery I just throw on the pico. Pt sucks compared to q3 but it's a great headset for media watching.

harigeharry Am i the only one that just doesn't get the Apple headset, it sort of feels like 3D TV where the gimmick will wear thin very, very quickly. Nobody (apart from the oddballs who get paid to say so) wants to wear something on there face more than 2 hours at the most. So if this aimed at replacing a work station / computer and you don't have controllers and have to wave your arms around without exception and use your eyes to select things your head is going to explode. Also i can't see porn getting fully integrated, which is what VR is all about. Madness. $3,500 !

That battery don't look like it'll be in the way much if you in a seated or laying cg rcg, you can rest it on the side. Vrsumo2017 Yeah i forgot about the battery, that's pretty badly thought out... it all jjust feels like and incomplete half arsed product with a crazy price tag for the guys lucky enough to have that much spare cash.

I love Apple products but this i a dud IMO, it's even heavier (without a battery) than an Q3.

I imagine what it does it will do pretty well, but why ? i 100% guarantee nobody will be using this product to be creative and to use as their main workflow, not a chance in hell.

Can it even play games yet ? not that i'm interested in that.

It's probably gonna have the best passthrough of any product but not accesible to watch the amazing Alpha channel scenes, as Apple products are usually impossible to hack. What a waste

Lets hope i'm wrong cause at the end of the day this sort of tech pushes things forward for all of us.
