I’m no boffin , but that sounds like an internal wi-fi issue. If you’ve got a decent router and on 5Ghz band you should have no trouble streaming maximum resolution stuff.
Unless you’re still using a Go or something

doublevr Here is my personal concern around this. I am currently on a monthly subscription. I can live with the current download limits, it would only be an issue if I had a hard drive crash and needed to replace everything.
Let's say new lower limits come in for the lifetime subscription. If I changed from my existing monthly subscription to a new lifetime subscription after the change, would my download limits be reduced?
Sometimes I look at the lifetime deal and consider making the change, but I wouldn't consider it if it meant my existing download limit was reduced. It would be really nice if existing customers kept their current limits when changing from one subscription type to another.
Appreciate this might add complexity to the idea, but it prevents existing customers from being fearful of losing what they have. And since this seems to be focused around new users, it shouldn't make much difference in download traffic impact for SLR.

Yes, that's what he said. The download limit for new lifetime members would be 15% less than the current limit.

Yeah it's weird, i can stream 8k over wifi from my DNLA server without issues on my quest 2 but have issues streaming for some reason, but i'm fine with it
they have 4tb ssd drives for under 200bucks...probably wise to get one for back up
spanker 4tb ssd drives
Go 20 TB at least. Beat the inflation!
@doublevr, maybe you should consider regional subscriptions? Price coding for particular locations might help you find that sweet spot, provided you can discourage abuse by forcing the user to access SLR only through the country they register from (block proxies).
[deleted] If VPNs were banned I would cancel my subscription immediately without a second thought, I won't be the only one. Let's not plant horrendous seeds like that please lol
By the end of the day we all want a fair model in place everyone would be happy about.
Every exploitation has a price someone has to pay. Often times good users got affected because of some few bad assess.
doublevr Can you please explain what you mean by exploitation and who in your view are the good users and who are the few bad asses?
We are just looking for a more robust model to settle things. Annual and lifetime packages would be more rewarding for a user.
Monthly should be more of a trial.
Reduce the downloads by half for the monthly plan and keep the price at $19.99 for special occassions (Black Friday, Boxing Day, Veteran's Day, 4th of July, Valentines). That's how you'd be able to get the most money out of me. If the price goes higher I will, reluctantly, reactivate my account on POVR. However, I prefer the "organizational culture" of SLR
SchnuppiLilac good users and who are the few bad asses?
This really turns me off as a regular subscriber to SLR. I don't want to feel guilty for using a service after I have paid for a service. I'm probably a "bad" user because I have left multiple times to try POVR, Badoink, Baberotica, WetVR (very briefly), and VRAllure. I return when there are at least five videos that I want to see.
[deleted] I have paid $466 for my first 25 months. Current lifetime price is $434. The numbers speak for themselves: I may not be the smartest customer but definitely a good one
SchnuppiLilac Every single person who pays for porn is a good customer, considering how stupidly easy it is to pirate any of this content. There is really no place at all in this industry to disparage people paying you as a "bad apple" or "data hoarder". People are paying you when they don't have to because they believe in your site and want you to succeed. Shitting on those same people on the regular is kind of unbelievable.
I guess my internet and my limited income makes me one of these bad data hording customers. Living on a limited income I cannot afford to drop a large sum all at once for a lifetime or yearly sub so I'm stuck with monthly no matter what is offered at what price. The internet is not the best out here even at the "fastest" speeds so I'm forced to download if I want to see anything other than a slide show. I paid for a "premium" scripts bundle since it wasn't too much more than the regular subscription and the 13 videos a month gave it value to offset the increase in price. Despite saying "All the active subs will keep their current limits intact." my limits were decreased from 13 to 6 downloads a month. With my limited income I cannot justify spending $35 a month for only 6 videos.
As somebody signs up for a month once or twice a year to refresh my external SSD drive, I'm fine with a lower download limit the next time I sign-up. (I have weekly internet outages due to my internet provider bribing the government to maintain a monopoly, so streaming is a no-go for me.) Can I make a suggestion on how to use the increased revenue from this policy change? Develop a kit (software, manual with tips, cameras, rigs, etc.) that OnlyFans girls/couples can either buy or lease from SLR so they can make videos in the safety of their own homes. There are simply too many horror stories from working with studios and a lot of the top talent on OnlyFans will never trust SLR no matter how hard you work on reputation building. Thanks for your consideration.
Who essentially is affected negatively by users downloading the current limits? Other users by bandwidth issues? Or you as an organization maintaining a network with that much download activity? Is this a move to eventually get to an all streaming content format in order to start reducing cloud storage costs by no longer having to host to original huge files? From the tone of the OP this "issue" really comes down to money and subscriptions and saying that people do the monthly sub, pay less, download a ton of crap and then cancel? You obviously dont like that, we get it, so just get rid of the damn monthly discounted plan, get your damn full price for monthly subs that cancel whenever and dont touch or change the download limits???? Wouldn't that get you the money you feel you are loosing out on? There are obviously more people who you label as "abusers" of the monthly fee than "true" monthly subscribers or else this subject would not be a thing worth discussing and eventually changing in the future. If there is no issue with network or cloud bandwidth or anything technical like that with hosting the content that people hoard, and its all about the money, then fix the money aspect and dont touch the limits or am i missing something else?
metichemsi They said previously that "not even 0.1% of users ever need more than" the current limits, so kinda sounds like it's profit related.
