The app crashes on startup after it checks for updates.
SLR app updated for all platforms
pinkiecupcake I forgot to give some specs. I have a Galaxy Note 5 and am trying to run the most recent version of the app.
pinkiecupcake using Gear VR
- Edited
pinkiecupcake Nevermind. I figured it out. I was using something that stops Gear VR titles from starting so I could use some cardboard apps. Totally spaced. Sorry!
pinkiecupcake No worries, thanks for giving our app a shot—we hope you like it!
Best,
SLR Team
Philip Of course I'll elaborate! So, when switching between the menus below the video previews (Free Full videos, Favorites, File Player, etc) on the main menu with a controller, some options were a bit too low on the menu to look at easily. Since with controller you look with your head at what you want to select and press 'A', it can be a bit hard to see the bottom part of the menu when the app is centered from your heads resting position. I noticed recenter doesn't work on controller any longer (used to work by pressing the 'BACK' button on Xbox) which may help to resolve the issue. I have found restarting the app while looking higher or to one side can make these easier to reach in the meantime, however some videos are off-center to begin with and restarting for every scene could take quite a bit of time.
I'm not sure if this is the right place but, I'd really like to see the bumper buttons RB/LB, or R1/L1 or Playstation) used for vertical stereo offset control, like the triggers are used for horizontal stereo offset. For the vast majority of videos, there is no need to adjust the vertical stereo offset. However, when you do have to change it, it is much like horizontal where adjustments may need to be made every scene or every time the action changes. I notice this happens in almost every JAVR video where position changes need to be vertically adjusted every time, almost like settings during editing weren't consistent, or maybe it's something to do with how they upload but that's not for discussing here haha.
In any case, currently the horizontal adjustments are simple button presses while vertical adjustments require opening the menu, selecting settings, and playing with sliders. It's not as though the problem is large or unsolvable, but I'd like to see the app thrive and grow in features and useability so I thought I'd suggest it I don't believe RB/LB are being used but if they are please disregard my ignorance.
I hope I have explained better this time, but if not I'll be sure to try again! Thanks for your continued hard work.
Philip Thanks for passing that on to the devs, hopefully it's a function others find useful!
As for the recenter view button, I cannot get it to work. I'm on an Xbox One controller if that helps at all, and it did work very well previously (as recently as June). I had trouble with gamepads late June and used the Vive wands from July to last week. It's not a big issue and I'm getting used to working around it.
I'm using the app on an Nexus 5x and when I use the recenter option If for example my head is facing North all the content got centered as if I was facing to the West.
Sorry for my english.
Philip Sorry for the late response, I can tell you I'm running the latest version of Windows 10, with an Xbox One controller plugged in via USB 3.0 to my PC motherboard. Graphics drivers and controller firmware is updated. All other controller functions work perfectly except for recentering.
I'm sorry I can't provide more details as it's very confusing as to why it doesn't work when everything else does. I'll try having the Vive wand on hand for next time, thanks for that!
Yes I'm using a cardboard and when using the recenter button the effect is the oone that I mentioned before.

bigsloth Hey,
I have something great for you. I still remember you asking for vertical offset adjust via xbox buttons
used for vertical stereo offset control, like the triggers are used for horizontal stereo offset.
We got a better thing, now we manually correct each video if there is a vertical misalignment, JAVVR, DDF and other studios are already adjusted and now became watchable!
We'll also implement default color correction and overall enhance manually each video the best possible way.
But yeah, vertical offset is fixed, let me know if it works for you, we still can add physical buttons adjustment, but if everything works great I don't see a reason to add it.
Best,
SLR
I was using Sony wireless controller model CUH-ZCT2U paired to Google Pixel 2 XL with no problem until this update. Now the app no longer recognizes the controller, which still operates the Pixel otherwise. Not having use of the controller virtually cripples the awesomeness of your highly versatile player. Help?
Hamiltonbeach well not this update obviously.

Hamiltonbeach have you tried the key mapping for controllers in the player?
Even the OGo controller I had to redo.
So do we have to force the update and has this corrected the buffering issue ..running cardboard on a s20
Krod If you have app v8.2 you are on current version.
What buffering issue?
Can you run a speedtest with the device you use to stream to?
