TL'DR: The SLR player is incapable to play any 120fps video , so basically it's a useless option for users at the moment.
Detail: I am using valve index with SLR player, when i play or steam any 60 or 90fps video it goes well (both FPSVR and player setting menu bottom right showed 60 or 90fps)
but when i steam any 120fps video it's locked at 60FPS (both fpsVR and player setting confirmed it). I did some testing, and I found it's DeoVR player problem. because even if i downloaded a sample 120fps file, and play it in standard slone DeoVR player or SLR app, it is both locked at 60fps.
Same file play perfectly in the whirligig player at 120fps, i could not try streaming in whirligig as SLR don't allow it so cannot confirm that. This means no way to play 120fps video in SLR at the moment, have Dev and SLR tried this? if so why bother with the options then? Can you please investigate it (and forward the bug to DeoVR player dev) to see how to fix it.
Note: there is no hardware of network bottle neck, (2800 GPU i7 9700 cpu ). all apps updated in steam (and SLR using the latest update out today). SteamVR updated to the latest version as well(not beta version). Index is set to 120hz (and when playing 90fps, it's set to 90hz to match).
Note 2: i found DeoVR player is quite terrible and wasting lots GPU resource when playing videos ( fpsVR showed 80% usage of RTX 2080), while whirligig only use 40% with same video. Also i have correct streaming quality selected (e.g. 2700p at 120fps) so no confusion there. Software environment: window 10 64bit
Since DeoVR player is not the best VR player out there (it's using over 50% of RTX 2080 usage even when idle with black screen) Is it possible to not limit SLR to DeoVR player , and allow us to use other players to stream?
