Passthrough on your smartphone

We are actively working to improve our smartphone experience and soon you will be able to use Passthrough feature on the phone as well!

Here is a small sneak peek of what you can expect from the first iteration:

Thanks for the update. I had some doubts about the purpose of phone PT when it was first announced and still have:

When watching this on a phone screen, how would you align the scale of the performer with the scale of the real life furniture which differs probably by a factor of 10? It seems you would have to walk 20 meters away from your couch and my humble chambers will not allow that.

Moreover, I don't get how this should work during the POV sex parts. Even if the screen touches my nose, the performer's scale still is totally off.

If this was for cardboard VR, okay. But for flat videos that you watch with your phone in your hand? What am I missing?

SchnuppiLilac you can bring the background closer or make is more far away from you using your fingers (same as with any camera), the same goes for the "girl", check out video on 00:30

I'm a huge PT fan. So much so that the Quest 3 release day is basically Christmas.

But I am completely lost on what the use case is for PT on your phone. Like is this a pet project or is this something that's actually desired by a segment of the market?

Quite some eople, especially newcomers, still watch VR porn on their phone with a cardboard type headset.

LordCrash There is no cardboard VR on SLR anymore. This is PT for "the SLR smartphone experience - an awesome new way for users who don’t have a VR headset to see the amazing content hosted at SLR on their smartphones in flat POV".

Fair, but if I'm supposed to believe that PT is going to reach its full potential with the Quest 3 and full color immersion, then chasing after people still using cardboard and cellphones doesn't make a lot of sense.

Interesting.. It will be fun to mess around with for a while, for sure, but I still think passthrough is a gimmick. It hasn't grown on me yet.

Believe the goal is to branch out into providing as many of the VR experiences as possible to 2d platforms, since there's a whole wide world of folks who might enjoy scripts/Passthrough/etc. using their mobile device or other non-VR devices.

Granted that both non-VR scripts and AR very much already exist in general, but haven't with SLR previously.

My colleague is correct, we try to unify the experience, so that all features are available on all platforms we are on, so passthrough in this case would not be headset exclusive, but you can also use it on your phone

Will the AI Passthrough ever work on iOS?? It only works for full body SLR official PT videos.
