thatthotok Agreed, SLR can say that they have nothing to do with the scripters. Even if that is so. If SLR is now putting out JAV and green videos and all the other stuff. Then the scripters don't script the Nash videos anymore they just do the green ones.
The coming soon script page is full of SLR videos that I want to see. It just sits there for months with no change and then all of a sudden a new JAV video that hasn't even been released yet has a script day one.
Again taking away from what I paid for in the first place.

32 scripted video on the new page

5 solos videos with the handy basically in manual mode
4 green videos
4 edging videos (everyone gets a day one script)
2 SLR JAV videos
2 Deepinsex videos that I actually like

8 Total SLR videos (1 gang bang - not for me, 1 euro -definitely not for me, 2 JAV - not for me, 2 green - can't watch it so not for me, the Beyond Ink video - which is 2 months old and only ok, AND 1 GOOD SLR VIDEO - Sexual Alchemy: Sounds of Pleasure

The rest are a mix of poorly shot, bad scaled videos

The NASH videos are never going to get scripted if they keep putting out all this other stuff

People hating on Passthrough I bet have never even tried it. Sure, the tech isn't where it needs to be, but you still get a really cool idea of what it could become eventually. Not very many scenes work well is the main issue, but when you get it right it's pretty cool and a unique experience. Like others have said, it's not like I'm going to watch one type specifically, having PT is a cool option when you get bored of the other stuff.

Hurto11 I was very ambivalent about it on my Q2, but when I saw it on color on a Q Pro...that's a next level experience. As people upgrade their hardware, it's going to be a very cool thing to have access to.

Mutiny Passthrough on Pico 4 is still gimmicky bullshit, sorry. It's not even 3D, it's a 2D picture of your room or whatever with no sense of depth at all. Wasn't all this headset stuff supposed to be 3D?

"Acceptable" passthrough is still years away from the mass market. Quest Pro is not a consumer product and even on Quest Pro, passthrough still kind of sucks. But yeah, it's good that you have access to it, if only for games.

LordCrash Oh that sucks. I didn't realize. It's 3D on the Quest Pro (which I realize like 7 people own right now), but I haven't actually used a Pico yet. Passthrough depth seems like a pretty big thing to leave out.

I think the Quest Pro is going to drop in price a lot by the Fall. They already did a $500 off sale last week or something, If it doesn't sell as they'd hoped (I personally think they wont, it was too high a price point), you'll see it come down to like $700 or something. Which is still a lot, but, if the Quest 3 isn't out soon, that will def be a good upgrade.

I wonder if studios right now are actually shooting specifically with Quest Pro in mind or not? Maybe that's why NA scenes don't look quite as good on Quest 2? Maybe they are meant to run in the Pro? Anyone have any insight into that? If studios are currently making new scenes that are meant for the Pro then when it drops in price it might be even more worth it to grab it.

Hurto11 aside from the passthrough stuff nobody is making scenes for specific headsets

Hurto11 passthrough will be super cool thing with upcoming March update where we switch to alpha channel. All existing videos will be magically converted. You won't believe what you see and for non passthrough folks there won't be green screen at all.

Mutiny Pico 4 has depth too but it has one camera and the depth is not a 100% accurate (things up close are a little larger). Passthrough image quality is apparently even slightly better than quest pro (Mrtv review and others). The actual scale in quest pro is perfect though unlike Pico 4. Scale issues aren't that noticeable to me though unless you put your hands in front of your face.

fenderwq Pico 4 has depth too but it has one camera

Ahem, an actual 3d picture is simply impossible with just one camera.

Every 2D picture has depth. When I watch a POV scene in 2D I also perceive the depth of the room in it. It's still a 2D picture though.

rerun119 Yes, this complaint EXACTLY is why I keep being frustrated with SLR's side projects. I really dont care if they do niche stuff that other people like, but add the staff, scripters, etc so that it doesn't affect what I signed up for! It's this reallocation of resources that sets up a competition between subscribers to get their needs met and their subscription dollar maximized. If they are getting scripters to spend time on old stuff, JAV, and green screens while leaving the few new SLROs in the classic Nash-style unscripted for weeks or months, I'm not a happy camper.

For the life of me, I cannot fathom why this is hard to understand, and the comments always seem to be filled with white knights talking about how many videos there are "for me". That is irrelevant! I'm still paying for new quality content and new scripts! I'm not subscribed for the back catalog!

LordCrash Not really, it uses the tracking camera's to try and reconstruct a 3D image (you can notice the processing when walking around). My point is that it's not perfect but it's not completely mono either.

Hurto11 the thing is that I don’t want to watch primitive material and imagine what it may become eventually. Why not wait until “eventually” arrives and it can be made to work seamlessly before producing and releasing scenes. As others have said, we are not beta testers for SLR’s R&D team, we are paying customers expecting high quality professional looking content.

That being said, there is clearly some interest in these scenes and, if it’s just going to be one studio in five doing passthrough, I can live with skipping those scenes and leave others to enjoy them. That’s assuming the other 4 studios are putting out regular quality content.

petermc I hear what you're saying, but VR porn in general is in an early experimental phase right now. I don't think most people realize how early it is. It's come a LONG way in just the past 5-6 years...and I think we're still probably another 5-10 years away from it becoming a massively scaled thing that almost everyone uses. It's going to get so good that most people won't want to go back to normal 2D porn.

In many way, we ARE beta testing a lot of this stuff...and it's kind of awesome because we're into it so early on, we actually have some say/voting power in how this industry is moving forward and that's exciting. The stuff that people will see 10 years from now is stuff that we're helping to carve.

Hurto11 It is true, SLR is a pioneer in VR and we have unlimited creative opportunities in the future. All of these are happening with your ideas and involvement, we appreciate it!

Hurto11 In many way, we ARE beta testing a lot of this stuff...

this passthrough stuff is more like pre-alpha
