I’ve seen a few people (and I’m paraphrasing here) saying stuff like “yeah, it’s kind of gimmicky and doesn’t look great right now but I applaud them for trying new things”.
My thoughts are this. I subscribed to a professional porn site to see well made professionally produced VR porn. I didn’t sign up for scenes that look bad while they experiment with things. That’s what you do behind the scenes, not what you release to paying customers expecting high quality professional content.
James Cameron didn’t throw a crappy amateurish looking version of Avatar out years before the technology was ready and expect people to pay to watch it while he was in the experimental phase. No, he waited until it was good enough to release as a high quality product.
I absolutely applaud SLR for experimenting with new things but I don’t want to see their experiments. I want to see it when it’s been honed and perfected to a high enough standard that it looks like a top quality piece of porn content. I don’t want to see the rough early experimental version.
Yes, maybe you could put links to stuff in the forum for these experiments for people who want to test it and check it out, that’s fine. It shouldn’t form part of your professional studio content lineup though in my opinion. It’s not my site though so I guess you have to do what you think will increase subscribers. If this gains you more people than it loses you then it’s a success, I suppose.
