doublevr Going passthrough was one of the best strategic decisions as everyone is watching these with quest 3 release. Getting Mr. Nash to try it out 🔥

Well... I mean, sure, everyone is trying it out right now because of the new headset release. I, myself, someone who has never tried PT before, have been experimenting with it for the past 4 days. My initial impression on Day 1 was really disappointing, and not at all what the hype made me believe... And sure, people are going to try it out because they are curious, they want to add some variety/spark in their porn habits, and because it's the "new thing." But if SLR becomes a completely PT-centric studio, then it's a damn waste of VR directors like Alex Nash.

doublevr Otherswise he has been resistant so far.

Hopefully quest 3 passthrough madness will get him more into it.

This speaks volumes right here, and quite frankly surprised you would share this.

Regarding PT in general... Since Tuesday, I've experimented more with the help of some of the members here ( @Hurto11 and @Vrsumo2017 ). What's interesting is... though I still don't really enjoy it, I found SOME satisfaction from watching VREdging scenes with custom PT (50 Hue, 100 Sat/Bright, 500+ Range). And actually, generally speaking, I found the more traditional VR scenes that are PT-able due to the lighting/background conditions of the room, were far more enjoyable than the green-screen produced scenes by SimSense. The green screen room is really limiting, as ironic as that sounds. Nothing feels natural about it, in the slightest. Whereas other normally produced VR scenes hit the mark a little better when using custom PT settings. Also, I think having a floating dick (that's obviously not mine) in the PT-scenes is way more immersion-breaking than just seeing the male torso with his dick in place of mine. Also, that won't require perfect alignment every single time.

Anyways, overall, my point is: Fine, I understand, PT is here to stay. I can't argue that, and there are many people that love it (for example when I had level-headed conversations with @Hurto11 and @Vrsumo2017 I understand this is an amazing experience for them). But if you are trying to force PT-green-screen scenes on all your directors, especially Alex Nash, at the same time hearing the news that there will be potentially no more Nash scenes on VRSpy, while simultaneously here at SLR we've only had 1 Nash scene in the last 25 releases... I mean, that's just got to be the most depressing shit I've heard all year.

(PS: Just a random idea: but instead of forcing Nash to shoot a PT scene, maybe he can just shoot his bread-and-butter type of scene, but just have the location / lighting be in a place where creating a PT version in post-production or within the DeoVR app will be possible. That way we don't get the sterile feeling and vibe that all these green-screen scenes so far have, and all fanbases can still enjoy Nash's scenes the way he wants them to be consumed. There is a reason why people fell in love with VRSpy right off the bat, and it's 100% because of Nash's signature style.)

    Hairsational It's called hyperbole

Also semantics, my dude. You say it's "hyperbolic", I say "inaccurate". Both can be correct.

And every day I strive to be more like Harold, so thank you 😘

justsomedude101 Also semantics, my dude. You say it's "hyperbolic", I say "inaccurate". Both can be correct.

Point is, it's figure of speech that is not intended to be taken literally – and you are taking it literally.

justsomedude101 saying no one likes it is silly

I have respect for you, so not interested to quibble except to say that’s not ever what I said. I think the PT divide is as real as MILF vs nubiles, tits vs. ass, hands/ no hands, you name it. I also feel there has been a ridiculous imbalance of this content to the actual VR that a lot of us subscribed for and is systematically being driven out. I say good luck to SLR if they really think this is the future of porn. I can’t vote with my dollars - already locked into what was a very expensive LT sub, bought when it seemed this company believed in the casting Phil gave us, as shot by Nash’s vision. Sad to see what that has turned into these days. I’d say VRSpy is where it’s at now, but from what your dictator leader implies above, that too is going to be annihilated by the Borg. Apparently afraid of the competition. Such a shame.

g2kbuffetboy there will be potentially no more Nash scenes on VRSpy, while simultaneously here at SLR we've only had 1 Nash scene in the last 25 releases... I mean, that's just got to be the most depressing shit I've heard all year

Passthrough may be the future of porn but it is not the present. Even with colour, it’s much too restrictive, fiddly and non-immersive. If the “like” figures are to be believed though, lots of people seem to like it so I guess it makes sense to carry on producing it. I think you’ll find that you will begin to drive people away if it gets much more prevalent than it already is.

I will also say this to some of the other comments, the last two Alex Mack scenes with Danielle Renae and Sinatra Monroe were pretty hot. I’ll take those over Nash every day of the week, I’ve no idea why he’s so hero worshipped on here. His scenes are often technically poor, plus his weird armpit fascination and now his new ridiculous looking POV kissing thing where we’re not even in the room. On top of that we have the same boring unimpressive male performer in almost every scene. Let him go to VRSpy so I can just ignore their scenes instead of SLRs.

LordCrash Let's start a new social media campaign:

        #FreeNash

I tend to believe that Mr. Nash could produce better VR porn almost everywhere else, without somebody telling him that he isn't allowed to shoot taboo content anymore and that he should scenes in front of a green-screen now...

Looks like nobody is supporting you. People have supported you before and got banned as a result. There was nothing from you defending them. You must be a great friend in RL

Producers at SLR have infinite freedom. They can shoot whoever they want how they want it, etc

petermc Let [Nash] go to VRSpy so I can just ignore their scenes instead of SLR

Well I never thought I’d agree with this guy (petermc) on anything, but yes, #FreeNash. Let him go to VRSpy and continue producing the quality VR that hasn’t been seen on SLR with any consistency for so long. In one month I’ve seen far more goodness from that site than I’ve seen on SLRO for now well over a year. Let Nash go. Do it for the good of VR.

argyle43 Well I never thought I’d agree with this guy on anything

One of the six are caveating their support lol

            theHobbit caveating their support

except your count is as off as your attempts at being witty.

justsomedude101 Call it whatever you'd like tbh, it's only semantics.

No, it's not. Double said that AR porn was the future of VR porn which is simply wrong. Objectively wrong. It's as wrong as saying that VR porn was the future of 2d porn. It's something different. So no, it's not only semantics, it's about correcting false statements in your customer communication. You can produce as much AR pron content as you want, it's your business. But no matter how popular AR porn is, it's not a substitution for VR porn like double claimed. That's the point.

petermc ’ve no idea why he’s so hero worshipped on here.

Because he understands the concept of intimacy and the very nature of VR and is able to produce that speical (but kind of hard to describe) "VR porn magic" in at least some of his releases, especially with two or three girls in it. There are a lot of VR directors who can't shoot intimate porn at all. You are right about the technical hiccups, the armpit fetish, the male perfomer etc. in Nash's scnees, especially in the last months on SLRO. Still, nothing of that is really important for me in scenes in which Nash let his magic shine and in which you just marvel at the action in from of you. That's why I root for him because there is at least a slight chance that his next scene might be the next banger.

petermc the last two Alex Mack scenes with Danielle Renae and Sinatra Monroe were pretty hot.

Maybe it would help if Mack didn't shoot milfs with fake tits and way too much make-up in 80% of his scenes. You might like that but that's not what we're used to have on SLR and what a lot of us subscribed for in the first place. If I want to watch Milf VR porn in that style, I can go over to Naughty America. It's hard to see any redeeming value in SLRO lately if you're not into AR porn and enhanced milfs...

argyle43 you were requested to quantify your good number of people comment and you brought diddly squat to the table. I count 6 of your minuscule rabble.

LordCrash what a lot of us

semantics or hyperbole? there is no lot hahahahahaha. There are 6 of you.

Also if you don't think Sinata Monroe is drop dead gorgeous and hot as fuck there is clearly something wrong with you. She should be on the list for an exclusive contract.

LordCrash You might like that but that's not what we're used to have on SLR

I don't care why you subscribed or what you are used to lol. I like the direction SLR is going in right now. There is a lot of diversity and the women appeal to different tastes and also women are being shot in different formats.

One of your ragtag rabble @TakingFredoFishing insulted Jenna Starr on her scene - he has received 113 downvotes on his comment. So far you have one supporter of your #freeNash campaign hahahahahah. So when you folk say a lot of us, objectively it simply isn't true. Sorry to bust your bubble chap.

theHobbit There are 6 of you.

the problem is that all six of them got self-repetitive in regards with PT. They are not bringing any points to the table any more, just repeating the same mantra all the time.

Nor there is a point for debate:

                  1. The number of likes tells it all.
                  2. Just skip PT videos. SLR is content overdose, there are plenty of other great videos to watch.

Total waste of everyone's time. Just because someone on the forum says PT has no potential won't stop us further getting into it as demand is clearly huge. We just need a better passthrough. There's a big tech pipeline ahead for PT improvements. Now we need some directors with a good sense to make it really cool

doublevr Completely agree and fantastic news on the PT side of things.

There will come a time when all of this is just normal and it will be these folk who will never appreciate the pioneers like yourselves who pushed the boundaries with this tech.

I bet when the internet first started you found them telling others that it was just a fad and would never evolve to anything or that nobody would replace their books, music and dvd collections with kindles, streaming services like Spotify and Netflix respectively.

doublevr They are not bringing any points to the table any more, just repeating the same mantra all the time.

There’s where you’re wrong. Points galore below.

                    https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/5934-lets-discuss-passthrough-not-a-yay-or-nay-thread/10

                    doublevr SLR is content overdose

SLRO quality content is way down from what it was in 2019-2020. What’s left is an “overdose” of small studio drudge, mediocre SLRO VR and this AR that costs you a lot less to make than the quality you used to put out. Glad you have the sycophant above to blow smoke up your ass, but SLR as a studio is being driven into the ground by you. So let Nash continue to improve the VR landscape with VRSpy. You’ve got nothing to lose right?

As for Lordcash, I've seen his comments on a number of occasions and I think his words carry a lot of weight, and the shortcomings of slr that he points out are probably shared by many people, especially fans of Alex nash. For pt, it should wait a little longer for quest3's color pt to become widespread, and let the market decide whether it should be widely available or not. Finally, I would like to say that Alex nash's role in the platform should not be overlooked, he has built the popularity of slr. @doublevr LordCrash
