SLR Party Riots
theHobbit Correlation does not imply causation
vrguy69 Bro. The girls on both formats are equally hot in my view. In fact you could probably argue that the girls on non pass through have a greater fan base. Most of the girls in PT bar Lily Lou are quite new whereas the non PT girls are more established. So from a casting perspective, you'd think non-PT wins.
I am not sure I understand what you mean by point B - but your logic on point A is flawed.

Hairsational not saying it does, but you cannot deny that there is a shit ton of likes for PT. All Im saying is that despite a few critics of PT, @LordCrash's graphic doesn't really support the argument that there is too much PT which I assume is the point he was implying.
Everyone likes VR scenes while less than everyone likes PT scenes. I think we don't need any data to back up this claim and it is not surprising since PT is just an additional niche (maybe like solo vids or non-POV).
If you look at the average number of likes for SLRO VR vs. PT over the past couple of months, they are exactly the same (2.8 K last time I checked). That doesn't tell us anything about actual watchtime but for sure is justification enough to keep going, especially with Q3 coming very soon. If the average number of likes would be similar to the SLRO censored scenes produced for Japan where a Melody Marks scene hardly reaches 1 K likes, I think chances would be high that PT would go away all by itself sooner or later. But so far, that's not the case.
Still, it's remarkable how many likes the PT scenes get lately. How can the Serena Salgot (user base: 96) scene get more likes than the latest Agatha Vega (user base: 12.2 K, won the Alex Nash Europe trip poll by a landslide) scene? I am very surprised and have no explanation.
I'll throw my hat into the PT vs VR speculation ring re: likes
No doubt, PT has clearly shown it's not going away anytime soon. The number of likes it gets is way higher than I would imagine, which is pretty impressive. And I got to hand it to the Sisense team. They've really made a lot of strides with their production since a year ago. So kudos to them for innovating in this field.
I have a few theories though:
- PT users are diehard. If a PT video is released, my guess is that they will "like" it to show support for it (which of course, is totally fine). Whereas with VR scenes, there are so many released each day, many of them get buried, lost and forgotten, and not every VR user is necessarily going to like or even watch them.
- My guess is the majority of PT watchers are using Deo/SLR, on Quest, and streaming. This keeps them on the app a lot more than other folks. More time on the app, the more likes will be given, the more metrics SLR gets with stream duration, etc. Whereas for me, I'm a downloader, and I use Heresphere. I will download scenes I like (multi-girl, harem, etc), but I will also download the PT and 1-on-1 scenes just to give them a quick whirl. Unfortunately for me (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), none of my watch habits are tracked, and the scenes I like aren't really feeding into SLR's overall data pool. SLR would have no idea that I've watched Raw Taboo Mean Sis, Pussy Play, Euro Trip Harem, Sexual Alchemy, etc dozens of times over, but only watched other standard BG scenes once or for only 5 minutes.
Anyways, I'm not against PT, but I will probably have more of an opinion about it once I check it out on the Quest 3. As of now, I think everyone should get a piece of the pie. It's how I see harem scenes. I get frustrated when I see people comment on harem scenes how they prefer 1on1s, because there are literally thousands of other BG scenes out there, while harem fans get maybe 2-3 harems per year (I'm hoping SLR will pull out one more harem in 2023 @doublevr , but we'll see!). So, in the grand scheme of things, PT users are in a similar boat. There aren't very many PT scenes as a whole, so I would find it hypocritical of me to really talk down on it. However, I think no matter what, balanced and strategic scheduling is important. The influx of PT scenes these past few months have skyrocketed. If the same happened with multi-girl scenes, I would be in heaven, but I know it wouldn't be fair to 1-on-1 fans. I think that's what it really comes down to. With SLROriginals releasing 3 scenes per week, that's a high enough number for majority of fanbases to be satisfied, but the cadence just needs to be more regulated.

Agree. Let's put it this way:
When a scene of a highly sought-after performer drops in PT, despite the number of likes, you'll always get a decent amount of users commenting how they would wish for the scene to be VR. If a scene of a highly sought-after performer drops in VR, almost nobody if any would comment on how they would wish for the scene to be PT.
Given that VR scenes are a staple, and judging from the SLRO VR releases of the past few months, I feel like I am not getting my moneys worth anymore. I find myself watching either old SLRO scenes or JAVVR, RealJam, VRSpy releases more and more often.
- The number of long, storylined VR scenes have dwindled massively, and even when they do release something that seemed exciting (like the Penny Barber scene), they somehow technically botch it.
- Similarly, good BGG+ VR scenes have dwindled. Gone were the good days of Asian Delight, Latina Delight, Raw Taboo, Aquarius Spa scenes. By the way, the most well-received SLRO scene (judging by the reaction and comments) of 2023 was Modern Relationship, a 2h+ VR production whose storyline was fan suggested.
- Less and less "sneak peaks" and list of upcoming performers communicated. Those were great to keep up my interest!
Not saying PT shouldn't exist, but VR scenes should be the bedrock of SLRO and there should be a balance of PT/VR scenes without compromising VR scene quality (which most ppl here including myself have subbed for). I am worried that the quality and abundance of VR scenes are being affected because of SLRO's push on PT.
While PT is undoubtedly popular to some subscribers, the "like" mechanism is not informative, a user can either like or not like, thus one cannot distinguish a user who is discontent with a scene versus one who is neutral. Adding a thumbs down button and comparing like/dislike ratio would give a MUCH clearer picture. If this were implemented, I would expect PT scenes to have a high like count but also a comparatively high dislike count.
I of course do not know what goes on BTS, but seeing Nash producing decent scenes for VRSpy, I might go check it out.
Rustam1990 Agree that at this point SLR PT output should not exceed like 25 %. Not sure if the recent high quota of PT scenes was on purpose or just a coincidence, but then again, if there is a time to produce PT content, it is right now. No-one else has it, Q3 as a mass product offering improved PT experience is coming very soon and the PT library is still quite small.
The Penny Barber scene with the messed up camera settings was filmed by Alex Nash, so I would assume this was rather a case of shit happens than SLR doing it wrong again.
Regarding the decrease of multi-girl scenes and good storylines, I could imagine this is done to keep costs down (I am paying less in my second year while at the same time I am getting more SLRO scenes per week). Additional performers want to get paid too, someone needs to write these stories and the additional acting for sure will increase working hours on set, so the profitability of such a scene will probably be substantially lower. I don't think this issue would go away by replacing PT scenes with VR scenes because there wouldn't be more budget per scene.

With the every new headset hitting the market there will be even more demand for PT
No one else is shooting these for some reason. I would be happy to see other producers jumping on it

If this is true I'd much rather sacrifice one or two scenes per week in exchange for a higher frequency of decently made, good FFM+ VR scenes.

I'm not surprised. People who enjoy VR porn are not required to buy an SLR subscription. They can go elsewhere for good VR porn and since the VR SLRO scenes haven't all been that great lately it's actually not surprising that some people might get there fill elsewhere. For AR or PT though, SLR seems to have some kind of unique spot in the market now with nobodoy else doing it with the same production value. So everyone who enjoys AR or PT has to subscribe to SLR to watch that stuff.
The question is whether SLR wants to limit itself to the people who are mainly here for AR or PT or whether they want to go all in for the much bigger VR market again.
Also likes etc. don't only depend on whether it's AR or VR. They depend on the girls in the scene and the technical execution. I'd like to give Anya Olsen my like but hey, she's only up for a PT or AR scene...so like or no like?
After all, SLR should actually be more concerend about the fact that their VR get so few likes lately and less about PT/AR getting more likes now. I think people would complain a lot less about PT becoming more and more a big thing on SLR if we just got one banger VR scene after the other.
justsomedude101 We have ongoing discussions about better spacing things out to avoid long periods of time without any specific director's content, multiple similar scenes in a row (for example Passthrough), etc. Will just take some time to implement.
Works like a charm...
This scene by the way has the most likes of any SLRO scenes in the past 6 months:
Just take a look who directed this one...
Maybe exchanging one of the best VR director with some of highest rated scenes with two newbie directors who put out rather mediocre content on a regular basis isn't just the best idea to make VR porn fans happy. And sadly things haven't improved much in the last couple months.
With Nash shooting mostly European girls lately (and having some technical issues doing so for whatever reason) and simsense mostly shooting PT stuff we VR fans can only watch content from Mack and that new European guy. So for US girls in VR, there's pretty much only Mack lately and that's well, rather disappointing. He shoots decent porn but he still doesn't really get VR and he's not able to do VR magic like Nash or Onthetelly could. The secret sauce for true VR immersion is missing,

I have no problem with AR/PT scenes, and if people like them then great! Personally, they're just not for me. My issue is that I signed up for a VR site, and that's not what I'm fully getting anymore, so I feel I'm not really getting my money's worth anymore. I used to really enjoy SLRO scenes a few years back, but lately I'm mainly here for scenes from other studios (VRSpy, PornCorn, RJVR, SexBabesVR etc...) and the odd SLR scene now and again. If PT is so popular then maybe give it it's own site, or give existing customers a discount with no access to it. If other producers start getting into it, I just hope they don't clog up their existing VR sites with it, and create a new site with a seperate subscription. If it's as great as everyone says, then I'm sure those sites will do well too.

which scenes did you like?
Yeah seems like this one is probably a one off @vrfanservice farewell scene. Nothing SLRO produced after is remotely near it in terms of being a complete VRP experience.
