  • 🔥 Alex Nash - 'Grand' VR productions suggestions 🔥

LordCrash such a shame though and does it really make more money? SLR could invest in more quality scenes instead of quantity right? Most of us pay a fixed price anyway. You see it all across the board, only those 1-on-1 simple scenes in a cheap setting.

Naughty America is the only exception ATM. Really think SLR or other will loose marketshare to the VR companies that are still willing to make high quality 'grand' VR scenes. Luckily the quality of Naughty America VR is improving each day 😁

I hope SLRO won't be like Wankz/MILFVR. Yes they produce good quality scenes with great casting, but compared to 2017/2018 when they routinely pumped out masterpiece after masterpiece with decent storylines (e.g. Bargain Banging, Stepmom's Little Helper, Easter/XMas 3+somes), now they are a bit more vanilla, mostly not passing 50 mins in length.

I'm subbed to SLRO because they still make such masterpieces from time to time and I hope these will stay despite requiring more effort and money to produce.

Rustam1990 100% with you on this one. I, however, see this happening slowly to SLR as well. More focus on 1-on-1 pass-through bulk scenes instead of some epic masterpieces.

Really hope SLR won't go in that direction. Really like the raw taboo and spa series. Just hope we will ever see something as Fidelio in high quality 8k+....

hhigh88 Really hope SLR won't go in that direction.

Too late. They went full Walmart some time ago. They chose to satisfy the mouth-breathers instead of the power users. No big surprise there - they've always been chiefly about profit and market dominance. Driven by ego, not creativity. or excellence. Their reactions to criticisms are the tell.

Don't worry, though. If this thread goes on long enough, one of them will drop in to post a point-by-point refutation of how wrong we are, and show us that we are really getting everything we want! /s

Such a shame everything is going into that direction. I would even pay a premium for those kind of scenes. There are still a lot of people that value quality.

To be honest, out of every 20 new scenes I probably skip about 19 and only watch 1 nowadays 😔

We live in the cursed age of subscriptions, which is like a Ponzi scheme: it only works if you release more and more content, and more and more people sign up. And for people to pay every month, you have to release a lot of titles every week.

Now only quantity matters, not quality. The good old days of SLR 2 or 3 years ago will never come back. Now boring mediocrity in large quantities prevails.

My annual subscription ends at the beginning of August. I have no intention of renewing. I will subscribe to one or two studios that interest me individually, even if I have to pay more. At least it will be money going to studios that do things I like.

Rustam1990 I hope SLRO won't be like Wankz/MILFVR. You are right on regarding Wankz!! They used to be the best, especially with the 3+somes which I enjoy the most. Some of those Halloween scenes are masterpieces, They started adding new directors and quality went down, then they got rid of Jimmy about a year ago and all the multi-girl scenes went down the drain. All the creativity was lost.

Rustam1990 I'm subbed to SLRO because they still make such masterpieces from time to time and I hope these will stay despite requiring more effort and money to produce.

I am all about quality productions so I hope so too. Unfortunately, perhaps the most creative and talented SLRO director @vrfanservice is leaving SLR. So it suggests that perhaps it is all about money, since some of the VFS vids are the top rated scenes on the site. Look at 'Busted' for instance. If I was @doublevr I would be fighting to keep him on board. I am sad to see him go. At least we still have Alex Nash.

        I

LordCrash Passthrough scenes are so much easier to make. You don't need a proper setting, you usually need only one female talent, you can shoot everything from the very same position, you don't need any clothes and props, you don't need any elaborate script or story.

It's the next level of warehouse porn. Easy to make in big quantities, so perfect for the studios...

I fear that this maybe true. Well said.

Yes, I remember seeing an old WankzVR scene that was kind of a Walking Dead Parody or something like that with Adriana Chechik, Megan Rain and another girl, Arya Fae I think. The picture quality didn’t quite hold up to modern VR but it looked like a ton of effort went into the scene like a proper porn production moving to different locations with a proper sets, a script, top tier talent and storyline. It felt like I was actually in one of those 90’s porn features. I loved it.

Don’t see anything like that these days.

hhigh88 I don’t think so, I’ve seen him online asking people to request him for different sites so it doesn’t look like he’s walking into something else, at least not immediately.

petermc The good old days 😉

I have to say though that SLR does see that a quality cast (popcorn & butter) and higher quality scenes + cast and storyline, costumes, etc. (Raw taboo , sexual alchemy) do very well.

They have tried harems but often with B- stars, not very interactive and a general lack of quality (both in video quality as well as storyline, costumes, background, etc.).

Hopefully they are exploring and see that low quality 1-on-1 scenes mostly stick around up to 2k in likes and harems are also not what they expected. Maybe they should explore the middle (fffm, ffffm) and instead of more models go for a-levels models, a good storyline, surroundings, etc. 💪💪💪🤞

It doesn’t have to be multiple girls for me, not all at once anyway. A top pornstar with a decent storyline would be great. Not even anything too creative, just mix up locations a bit. You could meet in a hotel bar, she chats you up, slips her room key in your pocket and flashes you some tits or pussy on the way out.

You then follow her to the elevator and she can’t even wait to get to her room, hits the emergency stop button in the elevator, drops to her knees and starts blowing you. Then you fuck her against the wall for a bit before you decide to go to the hotel room where the sex starts up again.

Most importantly though, concentrate on getting the camera angles and sex positions looking as good as they possibly can instead of just trying to make things easy and efficient by keeping the camera static in one place for as many positions as possible. Treat it as a piece of art that you want to look perfect rather than something you do in the least amount of time possible.

I think the big problem with SLRO is that they do not (and maybe never did) have any identity or aesthetic to call their own. For most (if not all) other studios, you at least pretty much know what you are going to get with each release. They are consistent.

For example, when I see that a model I like has shot a VREdging scene, I know exacly what that will be like. I know that it is going to be in one of two rooms, that the model will be A to A- level, that it will be BG, what angles the director uses, how the scene will be lit, what positions they will generally transition through. Their rig could use some updating, but that is a small quibble. If DeepInSex is shooting a scene, ditto. I know the room, the couch, the chair. I know the models will be A+ to A-, that it will be BG, and the lighting, angles, and positions are pretty set - as well as how they coach to girls to act. If it's BaDoink, I know that the models are A to B+, that it will be BG, that they will start with a tease and moce to the massage table, and that the lighting, camera angles, and positions are predictable. Same with LethalHardcore, DarkRoomVR, etc. The foundational stuff is almost never in question with these studios.

When I see that a model has shot for SLRO, I have no idea WTF I am going to get, but I usually hold my breath that they don't screw it up. Will it be a professional crew, or an incompetent one? Will it be a new director trying out his "new visions"? Will the lighting suck? Will the camera angles suck? Will it be BG, or BGG, or BGGGA? Will it be an old/young scene, or mashing two different body aesthetics together? Will the girl be a sapace alien? What positions will the girls shoot? For how long? Will it be intimate GFE, or will it be over-the-top gonzo "fuck my teen pussy harder" nonsense the entire time? Will it be VR, or gimmicky AR? A nice set, or a poorly lit warehouse? Will the scale be normal, or huge? Will the camera be too close, or too far? Will the post-production crew do a good job, or will there be inexplicable errors in sound or cuts?

For a professional studio, these are issues that should have been settled LONG ago. They seem to think this means they are "innovating", but this is not innovation. It is chaos. They don't seem to have any idea what they want to do in VR besides make money and dominate the market. They don't have a creative vision - they solicit things from the forum users. That is one of the reasons that vrfanservice has conflicts here - he stated on reddit that he "doesn't think it’s a good idea to let the “20 or so forum regulars” dictate all of the shoots as it’s becoming their personal spank bank with very limited ideas being thrown out". They don't have a casting aesthetic, they just farm that out to the forums as well. And that's what we get these days: ideas from the loudest people on the forums, with their favorite models, with directors and crews filming them however they please (as log as they rub their armpits on the camera lens for at least five minutes).

When I subscribe to a real studio and they book an actress, I know that they are going to get the "BaDoink treatment". or the VREdging treatment, etc. When SLR books someone, I only know two things:

            1. There is a really good chance that they are going to screw up some fundamental that they should not still be screwing up in 2023.
            2. They are likely to pick a set-up/composition that turns off at least 50% of their users, in the name of "making something for everybody".

Will65 It's awfully silent from the SLR side whereas I believe there is some very valuable feedback in this chat. Apparently this is something that is bothering quite some users.

Any ideas to build an own identity while keeping the forum alive? I don't think the two have to stand in each other's way.

hhigh88 It's awfully silent from the SLR side whereas I believe there is some very valuable feedback in this chat

We read through pretty much everything on the forum, admittedly some posts & comments more thoroughly than others depending on the volume of everything.

There is some good feedback in this thread that we can take to the production teams, so thanks as always to those contributing. There is also some feedback that is not really actionable, for example comments regarding Passthrough content (as we have no plans to stop producing Passthrough scenes).

Will65 I think the big problem with SLRO is that they do not (and maybe never did) have any identity or aesthetic to call their own.

Exactly. Subscribing one year at SLR is a lottery because maybe you like what they do today, and next month they change completely and forget about what they did before. They said it was going to be "a sum", but it is not true, they forget the previous content, and they start doing experiments that do not interest many people.

They also rarely keep their promises. I signed up in August last year because they said "next week" they would start releasing the first SLR JAV Originals, and here we are. A year later, my subscription is coming to an end, and no sign of Japanese girls. It's an unfulfilled promise that has been going on for 3 or 4 years now.

It could be compensated with the SLR Originals, but in the last few months the quality of the movies and girls has plummeted, I've downloaded almost none.

The only thing that has been worth it to me are the movies from other studios, if it were for the SLR Originals content, it doesn't make up for the subscription. And if we're talking about the main reason for my subscription, SLR JAV Originals, it's to feel ripped off.

In fact now that Japanese studios are already releasing 8K movies, SLR JAV Originals has already lost its main advantage, which was the image quality. Now that Japanese movies look the same as Western movies, SLR JAV Originals are not going to bring me anything better than the ones already in Japan, watching the titles they have released with Melody Marks and Hazel Moore, full of clothes and with the camera far away.

Natch yep, this is a perfect example of @Will65 his point. Some people in the forum request JAV and then they start experimenting with JAV. People request Harem, Ebony, etc. then we start exploring with Ebony.

I think it makes wayyyy more sense to build an identity around channels and create teams that are really good at that particular genre and get better at it.

You see many pornsites doing this. Why not stucturally build SLR - passthrough, SLR - Grande, SLR - Ebony, etc. channels and focus on a few at first. The other genres you buy in bulk from other producers.

Then at least you know they are really good at those things + they have a other more to offer. Now it is like a restaurant with way toooo many dishes on the menu. In general you know not all dishes wi be good and you skip to a restaurant with a smaller menu known for it's good and fresh seafood 😉

justsomedude101 thanks for the reaction. It is not about stopping passthrough. It's about creating focus and become really good at some things and not the constant experimentation and general lack of quality assurance.

Please continue with passthrough and become really really good and known for it. Create a separate passthrough channel and then pick something else you become really good at. Take the Vixen websites for example. They pick a genre, a quality standard, create channels (separate websites in their case) and they become widely known for their expertise and quality. That's a vision and a very strong one in my opinion.
