metichemsi because when it comes to marketing decisions
I'm not here to try to help them market their product, especially when it comes to blurring the lines. I'm on this thread because they blur too much already, and it starts to encroach on truth in advertising and veer into bait and switch territory. Even in the passthrough category, the lines defining a "passthrough" video are sketchy at best. Have you looked? So many of the scenes marked as "passthrough" are anything but! Basically, there is one user here that comments on nearly every video what settings to use to remotely resemble passthrough, even if it means that the model has no eyes or her hair disappears or some such nonsense. Clearly, these are NOT passthrough videos, but if they are barely passable, the "marketing" team slaps the label on them. I can already hear the "marketers" (e.g., con men) pitching that "SLR has the largest collection of passthrough videos!"
If you are selling VR, call it that. If you are selling AR, call it that. If you are selling 3D porn, call it that. Stop trying to figure out how to get the most people to spend their money by describing your product in a dishonest or misleading fashion.
