The future SLR Windows App
[deleted]
Wait, so there's a desktop application for SLR?
Or does this mean that you will be removing the web interface and switching to a streaming-only platform?

Nothing is going to change on the web.

That's probably a great decision. I've been on here for a long time and hadn't even heard of that app.
The web platform is extremely well designed, both secure and fast. It's very useful for previewing stuff and selecting what to download. If I could make any suggestion, it would be to explore a collaboration with Deo and just abandon the SLR app. Maybe through an advertising push for cheaper lifetime accounts you could raise enough cash to buy Deo. That could be a very smart long-term investment.
[deleted] you know its the same app right?
I'm just catching up on the forums. I feel like this thread is important if you are getting rid of the SLR app.

I was testing the DevoVR app on windows today through the quest store, and the video quality breaks up and is very poor. It's choppy and unusable.
The video quality is smooth on the native SLR PC app - I have no issue running videos, even on max quality. @doublevr , any recommendations on what I can do to tune devo vr to make this run smother?
I do need a PC link to make it work with an OSR2.
Headset: Quest2, connected via cable
Graphics card: RTX 2060
Video used for testing, on max quality:

I tested with other videos as well, same issue.
I already have the HVEC codex from Microsoft, and LAV filters installed. I tried uninstalling devoVR, and reinstalling from Steam, same issue.
netcat
SOLVED: The issue was that the videos were playing in 264 by default. Fix by changing in quick settings.
After trying many many things, I found the problem. The videos were playing back in 264 by default in devoVR. Easy fix for anyone else running into this, go into your quick settings, and change it back to 265.
Why do they even still have H264? Many times SLR app losses connection or internet speed drops for a time and then is switches it to H264. Then you have to manually switch it back after leaving the video then come back and reload the script. What a waste of time.
