kurtis316 The idea is that you don't try to find any right settings, you just need to make sure that in DeoVR passthrough is toggled on as well as alpha mode (A in a white circle).
Alpha Passthrough. How does it work?
Iām not a passthrough guy at all but that alpha passthrough scene was infinitely more watchable as a non-passthrough scene than those horrible green screen scenes.
SchnuppiLilac ..alpha mode (A in a white circle)
I just can't seem to find this feature, I tried adding '_ALPHA' to the filename but it didn't work. (DeoVR version 13.9.2)
kurtis316 When you stream the video, you should find the (A) button next to the passthrough on/off toggle in the right-hand passthrough controls panel.
Since you mentioned changing file names: If the (A) button does not appear when playing the downloaded video, then I am stumped.
There should be a pass through icon on the player, you just gotta turn it on and the alpha should be set already.
Vrsumo2017 didnt work for me either

The thing is when I leave it as it is, the passthrough doesn't effect only the background but expands beyond boundaries and permeates her body too, resulting in a transparent appearance. Is this suppose to happen?
Here's a recorded vid that explains the situation https://www.udrop.com/file/8aVm/2023-05-21_16-45-31.mkv

kurtis316 then u might have to manually put the pass through #s in...
Hit that eye icon on the player like you did to turn it on, and to the right in the option hit that eye icon to get to the "pass through" settings.
Going down try putting these #s in order by moving the sliders
50
100
100
550-590 move this slider around there
1000
But streaming for me the alpha automatically works. You downloading the file?
Yeah, I only watch downloaded files instead of streaming directly from the app, due to limitations in my internet speed, so that's not really an option for me. And yeah, alpha passthrough won't be an option either in that case.
@doublevr @Sandi_SLR can you confirm or deny anything? Are there any plans for a future fix?

SchnuppiLilac I tried it out, and I'm happy to say it's working! It's unbelievable that I went through all the other solutions except for this one lol. I finally noticed the "A" button right next to the Passthrough toggle, and now everything is functioning perfectly. Really appreciate your help, man. Thanks !
Hi
I have a question
I'll use this scene as an example
https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/banderas-is-banging-14072
My question is, if they film a scene similar to that how the background looks will they be able to add alpha channel to it and will that help the pass through options work better as we manually set the pt options our selves? Or would yall be able to add a preset alpha setting? Or both lol
And I see previous green screen scenes are gonna get re edited with the alpha
Could yall add an alpha channel to that scene i linked or to any other scenes non green screen.
Was just curious
Vrsumo2017 Hey, yes we will be able to convert normal (not greenscreen) videos to passthrough with background removal tricks using AI, this was mentioned a few times and there is a thread about it too.
Sandi_SLR this was mentioned a few times and there is a thread about it too
Yes, I remember reading something like that, any idea when these features will be rolling out, for example when will we see a non green screen scene have these alpha channels?
& Thanks for the reply
Sandi_SLR and there is a thread about it
Can I kindly suggest this thread be pinned, I sometimes search for those threads so I can read back what was mentioned about pass through and what is planned, but there's so many discussions.
Idk, just a suggestion
Sandi_SLR Hey, thanks for the answer. However, I mentioned in a previous post that I have already tried that but it didn't work. Just to give you an an overview of this thread, the issue is related to the readability of alpha files when streamed via DLNA. Somehow, DeoVR doesn't recognize these files as alpha passthrough files (even after renaming them).
For now, we have two potential temporary solutions. The first solution is to directly stream the files from SLR. The second option is to download the file and manually transfer it to the storage of the headset device. So, a permanent fix is still required for the DLNA streaming issue.

Sandi_SLR A few months later, have you guys checked what's wrong with playing alpha videos via DLNA?
Copying 30-40 GB to my headset is not really a solution or workaround for me, and not something I plan to do often.
What's the point of using DLNA then for these types of videos? From my dev point of view, it shouldn't be difficult to debug.
