with higher resolution comes higher bitrate requirements.

Streaming at 8k 60fps would mean that the video would need to have a minimum bitrate of 120 Mbps.
Anything below 120 Mbps will yield in a sub-par experience and will most likely have a lot of artifacts (which we already see in other studios shooting at 8k with bitrates around 60 Mbps).

I'm excited for the 8k resolution and I hope you give some serious consideration to selecting a bitrate that's >=120 Mbps.

Slr originals scenes have bitrate of 120 mbs. Some even more.
But server process it to 30 mbs max anyway.
While headsets currently capable of playing 6-8k videos around 80 mbs bitrate without stuttering.

When the original files already have medium bitrates of around 50, like for example VirtualRealPorn videos, they are even boiled down to 22 or so. If the available infrastructure requires a max of 30 to provide a smooth streaming experience for everyone, so be it. But why worsening quality even more for no obvious reason? It's a pity and I don't get it.

ableman I agree with everything you said. For me every time I see that a studio got an 8K camera the quality goes down. I want to watch the VRHush scenes but everything looks giant to me. I can't believe that people can stand to watch them. I feel like I'm ten feet off the floor. Maybe sometimes the picture is a little little bit better than 7K but it's not worth it at all if i'm huge. The only thing I can think of is that some people don't look around and just stare at the face. Maybe it doesn't bother them if they just keep looking forward.

ableman I hear people say pupil distance making a big difference but I have a small IPD so it should be great for me.
The thing is I don't read people saying Deepinsex has bad scaling. Everybody seems to love their scaling, me included. I do see a lot of people saying they dislike the 8k camera scaling. So I don't think it is so much differnent IPD's of people. It's that the scale is too big for everybody if they look around in the scene.

rerun119 Actually, I think their scaling is too small and their camera of quite low quality. It's not terrible but definitely one of my least favorite cameras out there. The Canon camera scaling does often have much more glaring issues though (8k is not always Canon just look at chzech vr for example).

Talking about Czech vr, that is a studio with the most consistent perfect scale imo, also wankz never seems to have issues, the recent SLR originals are also very nice.

Personally I think a lot of people are just afraid of a repeat of what happened with the introduction of the Canon camera and all the issues that went along with it. I think it's important to remember that that is just one camera. There is no inherent scale issues at 8k we just need to wait for a better camera, a custom rig or a proper fix for that camera with a crew that truly knows how to use it.

8k is something to get excited about. It can add so much. It just needs to be done properly

rerun119 I recall that some older Deepinsex videos did not work for me at all due to undersize scaling. Usually, I can process oversize scaling quite okay unless I have a visible external size reference like in passthrough mode. Maybe the perception of scaling is different in individual viewers or depending on how much your brain is aware of the real word scale while you are 'inside' the video. I also recall that I somehow liked the massive oversize scaling that you can find in some very old HoloGirls or Naughty America videos.

for me deepinsex has smaller scale than any other studio and i have to zoom in to get it looking ok
