  • haptics connect not scanning/syncing for toy (new quest2 auto update cause?)

Not sure if anyone else is having issues with Haptics Connect, but for some reason the app on quest2 is not allowing me to sync my keon through the "scan" button. The auto scan on startup isn't happening like normal (even though i have that toggled appropriately), and whenever you press the scan button it kills the input and nothing happens.

I tried troubleshooting all of these individually and nothing worked: changing when i turned on my keon in relation to the app launching, killing the app, restarting the quest2, uninstalling the app and redownloading it (was v15 and still is)

please let me know if there are any remedies, thanks so much!!

having different issue since today also, might be related. slr doesnt seam to be able to load the script when trying to play locally connected to joyfunplayer. i get green icon its connected but script wont load/play. Tried restarting quest2, reinstalling slr...no luck

    doefi3 just occurred to me...did you notice a new oculus homescreen UI in the past day or two? bc the haptic connect app UI has odd proportions itself and looks weird now too, never did before. i wonder if there was some automatic quest2 software update very recently that is somehow causing these issues? hoping the SLR team can look into this more thoroughly since a majority of the users are on quest2 and meta releases their auto software updates in batches so this might be happening for a TON of people right now/very soon that is indeed the issue.

    (also im thinking more and more that it is indeed a new quest2 issue causing this because i tried connecting my keon to haptics connect on my phone and that worked perfectly fine. however the phone app crashes when you try to change range/edging every single time lmao so its not very usable. so i think the original main issue is the new meta software update...)

      bamjus - are you using direct on Quest haptics connect method?

      Can you try to see if the issue persists when you use haptics connect on android or iOS instead?

      Which version number of haptics connect are you also using?

      FYI (If you are using iOS - theres a crash bug when you clicks settings that we need to have fixed, so avoid using that button for the time being)

        Try using latest SLR app update (you shouldnt need Joyfunplayer anymore)
        Could you confirm your SLRpp/DeoVR version you are using and if you have an active SLR premium membership and if the issue still persists?

          RealcumberScripts yeah all of this was referring to the direct quest2 haptics connect method. using version v15 when the issue arose and still now after troubleshooting). the keon connects immediately to the haptics connect on IOS iphone, so i dont think its the haptics app imo. seems like it might be quest2 auto software update related imo...

          yes slr native sideloaded app is updated to latest version, using with joyfunplayer 4.0 because using with osr2, which only usb tcode support now i believe . I put script and video locally on quest 2 which worked fine since yesterday, now when i try playing video script doesnt load or play also dont see script map on slr player or on joyfunplayer

          tried checking the haptic connect app and also noticed the ui looks all wierded out now. yh likely a quest update is causing all these issues, so far looking at complaints seems to be only related to quest 2 native slr app

          both the SLR and Haptics Connect applications are up to date. there is a new ui with oculus Quest 2 I noticed when attempting to launch haptics im getting the same issue where when people are launching the application and it opens in a window mode like you would see if you just opened the web browser on the quest. the window stays black for a brief period of time then the application opens still in a window ratio instead of the mobile ratio when the app was loading. the app also does not pair with the toy like at all. i did do a factory reset and reinstalled both applications still not working.

          seems like it really is the latest meta auto update...

          mybe try older version og haptics conect?
          i had the problam after the update to 1.9.0
          can someone send me an older version?

          @Sandi_SLR i think i might have misunderstood that the update released today would address this problem of haptics connect being unable to scan/connect to toy...it is still an issue. is there a timeline on when this fix will be released? thanks so much

            Sandi_SLR so it seems that haptics connect needs its own corresponding update in order to fix this toy scanning/syncing, right?

              bamjus I need to look into it, haptics connect is its own app. I will forward it to our testers to see if they can recreate it.
