  • Anyone watched the new 12k VRBANGERS scene?

[deleted] I stopped using playa a long time ago but DeoVR was at least able to open the video and attempt to play it, albeit at like 1 frame per 20 seconds haha I was at least able to click pause and wait for the paused video to load the image and preview the quality of a paused 12 video. It looked great, better resolution than anything I have seen before. Looked like everything within 10 meters of the camera was perfectly in focus and sharp. It's a shame nothing can play 12k right now. I tried to encode it to h.265 but premiere pro could not even export h.265 past 8k

    10k and 12k wasn't playable on my Quest 2, could only play the 8k video but it looked nice. I don't know if the camera used to shoot in 12k improved the 8k image as well or if I'm just seeing an improved 8k because I expected it. I can't tell for sure.

    doublevr I wish someone had recorded a super high fidelity VR video of Nancy A. or Brenna Sparks back in the day - maybe they couldnt have played the videos back then, but in 2023 those videos would be solid gold!

            In my experience the 8k version was more clear but yeah 10-12k is unplayable on current hardware
            Still good to future-proof the content

              TemporaryName Honestly, I hate the two models they chose for these 2 12k scenes. They have such hot chicks all the time and thats what they went with for their 2 12k scenes? Hard pass.

                  I'll at least want to see this upcoming one with Leana Lovings. I agree.. it wouldn't be my first pick either.. but the first 12k video I don't even want to look at. 12k or 50k, not at all intereted in Ryan Keely.

                      Can there be a limit to too large of a resolution on a headset with a fixed viewing size?

                      I didn't know Ryan Keely yet, but was pleasantly surprised tbh, kind of a fan now that scene is great, to each their own 🙂

                        doublevr Really encouraged by the approach to 12K (in other words, avoiding it), 12K just doesn't make sense and won't for a while. There is so much scope for improvement with resolutions we can actually use. Thanks for focusing on image quality instead of chasing numbers, it's exactly what I was hoping to hear 👍

                            Ior1yagami I agree, SLR was already killing it with how good they made their 6k videos look and their world class casting, now that they are officially on the 8k (fixed) system I cant wait to enjoy a ton of high quality 8k content for the next couple of years just fine. 12k can kiss my ass until then, unless they have some super hot chick I am a fan of, I will be skipping all this marketing white noise.

                              I thought the new VRB Leana scene looked fantastic (shot with the 12K system, I watched in 8K). The detail/clarity was great, probably the best I've seen, and the scale seemed good. I checked out the new 8K SLRO (Penny Barber) to compare and I think I prefer what VRB is doing.
