I have a theory why they got rid of the gear vr, there's no money in it, they practically gave them away for free, and it worked with all new S-phones up to s10, so even if you bought one for 100$ and you just used it for media you really never needed to buy another. No money in that.

Now, every new headset has to have sum new feature to give u a reason to buy it. If it weren't for the pt, I'd be fine with quest 2, hell I was just fine with my gear vr with s10, till they ruined it. 😒

I had this idea a long time ago. I thought to rent a vr camera, take a video of my room.
Then put a porn vr video into davinci resolve and use its magic mask tool to cut the girl out of the shot.
Place her on the front layer of my room video. Place the rest of the vr porn video on the back layer so it's not seen.

Never tried it. The davinci resolve free version has a resolution limitation. So the time and money required to do this was unreasonable. Was a neat idea though. Looks like you guys were thinking the same thing. My vr headset doesn't have a front facing camera.

Looks to me like the tech is still struggling with edges and hair. Haven't tried it before, but doesn't seem like the tech can make this believable yet. If and when it becomes perfect, that would make it the textbook example of a deepfake.

SMH my heart broke the day they updated it and it no longer worked on the gearvr. Stupid too, they should of just left it how it was and going forward the new phones don't work with gear.

But gearvr is great for vrp! It's lighter too then any headset. Hours of fun! In vrp!

Vrsumo2017 really? I find it quite front heavy. I really need to mod it further with a power bank and stuff. I hate the fov and screen door effect and my eyes hurt after 15mins.. maybe the ipd is not perfect for me.

But it really was a journey. I disabled auto update. Symbol still showin in the topbar for the last 2 years lol.

I even contacted the Samsung Support to get a usb c connector for free cause i got the 323 with the s7 edge.

They wanted a photo of the package with the serial no. for the 325 model cause that is comaptible to the s10, according to samsung.

I messaged a guy on ebay, asking for a picture of his 325 package, cause i wasnt sure if my s10 fits 😉🤣

Send that pic to samsung, got my usb c adapter...and really it doesn't fit..form is a tiny bit different...I sawed off the small piece of plastic with the saw and boom, perfectly functioning GearVR with S10 and Oculus app. Unfortunately only the old DeoVR app because there are no updates
