doublevr Great thanks, OSR2/SR6 would be in my next shopping list. Also, the possibility to find the silent one.

LordCrash this might sound harsh, but, the more "Ks" studios add will never improve the core experience IMO. There are 4K censored JAV videos out there that are WAY MORE intimate, intense and realistic than any of these super hi-res releases. Don't like JAV? Fine, go watch a 4K occidental release like "Better late than wetter" with Lena Anderson to get an idea of what I'm talking about.

I know that more Ks=future proof, but until studios improve their scripts and "mind tricks" to immerse the viewer in the experience, I couldn't care less about anything past 6K 🤷‍♂️

thatoculusdude Unfortunately, it feels like a forgone conclusion that studios will collectively decide to have a resolution arms race if the alternative is actually having to improve set-ups, stories, or immersion.

12K hits and everyone can coast on generic GFE scenes for a couple more years.

I thought about getting two handy's to solve the immersion issue with mouth feel but no hands. That really messes with the funscripts too.
Is this two motor toy a handy product? Is there a release date?
I would say adding a head swivel axis would be more important than twist. You run into the danger of snake bites too, with two handed scenes. This one script I'm working on the girl is going apeshit on the two handed twisting. My poor dick. 😅

A higher resolution sample rate for the script editor would be nice. So we can make sine wave shaped spline graphs instead of saw tooth waves. The sine wave accounts for the slight slow down at both ends of strokes; as opposed to the robotic up and down.

Maybe that's a misnomer because a 60 frames per second video can only have a resolution of sixty sample points per second. So maybe an interpolator tool that can create sine waves post edit. Have the device run at 120 fps or something.
Don't know how much data these devices can handle. Maybe have it with a usb cord and piggyback the MIDI tech, as this is not much different than cc knob tweak messages anyway. The computer would send MIDI messages over usb and be at near realtime speed. Instead of whatever TF this handy smart phone app thing is supposed to be.

LordCrash Last time they bullshited everyone it's 8K video from their Zcam K2 Pro camera.

Knowing them I would not expect too much.

Also it's not really resolution, but the quality of sensor that makes the difference. Like K1 Pro and K2 Pro have exactly the same resolution

Yeah, VRB have really gotten too comfortable lying to people.

"We made BlowVR because we just got so many demands from people to make a site that's the blowjobs cut out of our existing scenes."

"All of those deleted VRConk scenes are coming back as bonus videos."

"This $30 Dezyred game has over six hours of playtime."

It's a shame because VRB created my #1 and #2 favorite all time scenes and Conk is consistently better than VRCX at... well, everything.

Rakly3 This. Any chance they spent 20k and got a hold of a FM Duo to interpolate? I thought that camera was dead but saw it mentioned in an interview a few months back.

__> Our most important [hardware] products are VR cameras. Released internationally now is the FM DUO: it’s a 12K full-frame VR camera, and now in China, it’s become the standard for doing super high-resolution 8K live streams. That’s what we’ve been up to a lot, working with ByteDance and the other big tech giants in China and soon around the world, helping them to create amazing high-quality VR live streams.

Wilson: We first use our camera to capture the 12K video, that is the original fisheye lens video and we have then two ways to deal with these videos. We can stitch them in the camera or use a higher algorithm to produce better image quality. We use PC GPU, to perform the super sampling from 12K to 8K. It gets better quality than native 8K.

Wilson: We hope that many professionals will be using our camera. Regarding the technical specs, it’s a dual full frame sensor and it can capture 12K video and it can do embedded stitching and live streaming. Then we also use a feature, we call it super sampling from 12K to 8K, that gives the very best image quality for live streaming or recording. We have some software support for recording and live streaming and then you can do the real-time stitching for 12K to 8K and do some image optimization and stitching. We think it’s a very professional machine for those high-end users that want to do live streaming and some other recording or something.

Wilson: For the sensor. There are two full-frame sensors inside the camera, each can capture 8,000 square pixels at the same time and so we can combine the two lengths together. It’s about 12K by 6K.
Wilson: Frame rate… currently we’re using 30 fps but actually it can record in 8K 60 frames per second and it’s very good for some sports scenes and some other faster movements.

Nikk: We record for ByteDance in these concerts and we do it in 30 frames per second because this way we can record in 12K. Even though the final view on the headset is 8K but because it’s a 12K film downsampled to 8K, it’s going to be higher quality.
Nikk: This is for professionals but we have plans in the future to create a model… Currently, this camera sells for almost $20,000 and we have plans for another model coming out that we want to be cheaper and we also want it to be more accessible._

thatoculusdude "the more "Ks" studios add will never improve the core experience IMO.""

I don't think it's accurate to say higher and higher resolutions won't improve the core experience. Without improving other factors simultaneously, will it? Not as much. But that doesn't mean resolution doesn't matter.

Except for Varjo Aero people, we've all been running the mostly junk old gen resolutions with junk small sweet spot lenses (fresnel) for years. Once we're seeing 2500x2500 per eye + OLED/QLED + pancake or aspheric lenses as a standard, suddenly all those Ks will matter. Yes, we also need great cameras/sensors, high bitrates, good lighting, good proportions, etc. but resolution matters a lot when your eyes are an inch away from the panels.

(For reference, headsets I own are the Quest 2 and Reverb G2, with a 2 month ownership stint with the Quest Pro)

doublevr Can't wait to see what the 10k stuff looks like from SLR. Also looking forward to seeing the VRB 12k, although I'm much more skeptical for obvious reasons.

Will Quest 2 actually be able to play the SLR 10k stuff or the VRB 12k stuff? I thought we were already at peak resoluton for Q2.

Hurto11 without elaborate video player tricks the quest 2 will play 8k aka 4k per eye max. recording video in higher resolution and downsampling can still lead to nice visual improvements.
