bobbytables This wasn't meant as a dig on you. Sorry if it came across this way.
There also are several directors with different rigs for SLR.
Having several headsets, I can also say that scaling is different on different HMD's. ie when zooming in and out with the Quest Pro does not deform the image as much as the Quest 2 does. - It was actually the first thing I noticed when using the QPro for the first time, how much more straight the straight lines stay while also keeping the scale much more stable.
BTW, this isn't an endorsement for the QPro, I personally am very disappointed with it overal when it comes to porn consumption, putting it on and off your head, and cost for peripherals. 80 euro for a full closed light blocker. And it doesn't even block all light for me!
And then there's the apps themselves too. Most apps don't support SLRO 190° 200° 220° fisheye. If you're watching them on a 180° mesh, it's of course going to look all wrong. Or even with support for the correct FOV, the rad of the mesh also can differ between apps. As does the rad of the lens it was recorded with.
There's no cookie cutter standard for VR at this point.
