VincentVega04 for the perspective adjustments in DeoVR, I have configured both controllers so that I can adjust the pitch tilt and yaw using the thumbsticks, its very easy and i got into the habit of making a 1000 micro adjustments per minute as i'm watching a scene hehehe, the controllers never leave my hands which was weird at the start
DeoVR v HereSphere
hey, is it better than skybox and worth the $15 they ask for? can anyone help please, since deovr latest update warps any video I play, so I'll not use it again and I use skybox at the moment.

Every player has it's advantages and disadvantages
doublevr sure. thank you. I mean any line that supposes to be straight is now looking curved. for example, where the wall meets the ceiling or the portrait on the walls, they look curved instead of normal equirectangular. I get dizzy when watching the videos on latest deovr. it's like I'm on drugs or something. lol.
Silly-Sausage yeah. hoped for more detailed reply to be honest. but thank you so much man, you're right. It's ok, I'll do some searching on this.

filgan I did intitially give a more detailed response, but i've become disiillusioned and stepping back from being the good guy - sorry, i'm sure somone else will help and tell you to reset your headset or read from the script.
Silly-Sausage thanks man, should have read it earlier, but was very busy.
don't let anyone drag you down, here or in real life. be always optimistic and go with the flow, the good one that is.
YOU ARE A GOOD MAN. I mean it, since I rarely use the cap letters. lol.

hello, yes, I use meta quest 3 512gb version. I downloaded deovr app since you guys recommended to us and was really great for me, I liked everything about it from the clean and modern and easy to use interface to its actual function.
It's really a great app to be honest. but I don't know what happened after last update, every straight line looks curvy now, make me feel nauseous and dizzy after short period of time which never happened to me before. I don't recall changing any settings, honestly. I only watch vr videos on slr. I don't watch passthrough or flat content, just vr.
JordanSLR very sorry for late reply!!! was moving to a new home
I installed the latest deovr app from the quest app store and I played this video:
https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/cute-squirting-teen-comes-in-your-face-30294
I took screenshot using the deovr player ui camera icon thingy. here it is:
I don't think this screenshot will help so I wanted to track the issue myself :p
and after many hours of trials I figured it out what really happened!
First of all the problem itself fixed when I cleared the app data from the quest 3 settings like following:
settings\general\storage\application (drop menu)\deovr video streaming\clear app data (icon next to it).
when I did this, every single vr video I played using the slr page on deovr looks perfect! no more curved lines or anything! and as I said previously I was able to track the problem. here what happened in details so you can replicate it yourself
first of all let's start with this, if you clear the deovr app data everything will be perfect as I said. but once you do the following the problem will appear:
1- play a flat or immersive flat video.
2- from the deovr ui, open the circle setting button floating on the right side.
3- click on the circle icon with arrows called "transform"
4- set the screen size to 120, curve screen to 0, height to +40 then click on "set as default".
I changed these settings to watch old flat vintage content I have, since I don't like curved screens and the screen size was very big for me to track it in my vision comfortably and the screen height was very odd when lying down in bed, for example. this is why I changed them and set them as default to not repeat the settings for every single flat video I watch.
I didn't think they'd cause any problems because they only affect flat videos, but I was wrong! because they do affect vr videos as well! and now every single vr video I stream from slr is warped! you can see this in glance if you look at any straight line, it will appear curved!
like I said on previous post, for example, where the wall meets the ceiling or the portrait on the walls, they look curved instead of normal equirectangular.
but I learned something! I can resolve the issue without clearing the app data again and again every time. I can do this by clicking on "reset to zero" at the bottom of the settings menu where we can change the settings of the screen size and curve we talked about previously.
the issue is, I have to do this (clicking on "reset to zero") for every single vr video I want to watch from now on, which is so inconvenient to do!
it's like a setting you have to memorize in the back of your mind and have to do it before any vr video you want to watch, which is tiresome!
I don't know why deovr behave like this between flat and vr videos. as I don't see the same problem with players like skybox for example. I can watch both flat and vr content perfectly without one affecting the other settings.
very sorry for the long post, but I want to help to solve the issue in any way because I still love deovr more than any player. this is why I spent hours until I tracked the cause of the problem and I posted it here.
please tell me if you need any more information. very sorry again, and thank you very much!
As of today (2025), HereSphere vs. DeoVR really depends on how you're watching VR.
HereSphere is technically far superior when it comes to features, customization options, image quality, and even things like autofocus. If you're the type who uses raw high-bitrate files and watches them through SteamVR with a powerful GPU and a cable connection, HereSphere gives the best performance and visual quality by far.
DeoVR, on the other hand, shines in standalone mode. It's optimized for standalone headsets like the Quest, and given that itβs free, there's really no point in paying for HereSphere just to use it standalone, especially when DeoVR actually performs better in that scenario.
So basically:
PCVR / Raw files / Max quality β HereSphere
Standalone / Wireless / Ease of use β DeoVR (and itβs free!)
plays Local videos and scripts seamlessly from dlna and smb
so no need to sideload to headset
shame deovr cant
