Hello, the windows App when running through SteamVR lags out. Doesn't matter which headset I use while connected, I get random pixelation and the whole scene will turn black for a second then continue. My internet speed is 800mbps+.

(Headsets: Vive Pro 2, Varjo). This does not happen when using deos app with quest. Also as a follow up question are there keybindings for the valve index controllers? The app seems to think I'm using windows mixed reality.

I've noticed sum lag too but with the actual deo app download from oculus, for some reason I'll notice moving the pitch up and down it will move laggy instead of smooth and the deo app froze up.

It would lag on particular videos, I'd play this video, it start to lag, froze, I restart, play different video played fine, went back to the other video it start to lag again. 🤷‍♂️

    a month later

@Rakly3 Thanks, will try using the codecs I figured it was something like this but couldn't find much info.

@Sandi_SLR Thanks for the follow-up, wasn't aware support site/forum were separate so didn't see responses until now. Been using my quest for SLR but would rather use PCVR with my PC headsets if possible. I am using an Nvidia GPU (RTX3090) with an AMD CPU (Ryzen 7 5800x3d)

NotAMeme Open the settings of the streaming video and make sure you are also streaming the h.265 and not the h.264 version of the files. I had the same issue streaming but then I changed this and then I was able to stream 8k videos just fine, but yes also make sure you have the codecs as well

metichemsi Yes, resolutions over 2160p should be used with H.265.
You would need a 64-core threadripper or similar to decode those in H.264, or a specialized chip like Qualcomm XR2 (Quest2, Pico4, Vive XR Elite, ...)
