  • "Skip to Next Video" button behaviour changing in SLR ?

I'm experiencing the same problem! I've emailed support and I'm hoping they'll fix it soon.

I think this is also linked to the issue I have been raising about the back button going missing when starting to play. It is almost like the player is picking up a playlist rather than the filtered/sorted list of video's.

I have just contacted support as nobody was responding to my previous post. Might be worth doing the same!

You're right. It's the same issue. It's now such a pain to go through the new videos having to wait for the home screen to reload in between every video. Hope they fix it soon.

Hello,

we worked on big overhaul for playlists performance, also added shuffle and loop options, that went into effect in 13.4
In parallel we are changing the suggested logic in the backend, but sadly we couldn't sync up both tasks, so the later one is still in production, hopefully coming out soon.

What you can expect, is that not only it will respect what you had chosen as sorting (like New) but also your search filter, so if you searched for a studio or a pornstar, the suggested list will include the results into its playlist.

The logic behind is that you will now see the actual thumbnail of what will play next in suggested, instead of doing it magically in the background.

Sandi_SLR Thanks for the clarification, Sandi! Glad to hear that it's being worked on and I look forward to seeing the result.

Sandi_SLR Hi there, do we have an ETA on when this will be fixed? Until it's fixed, could you please undo the playlist changes you made in 13.4? It's become extremely tedious to look through new videos.

dango789 Hey, it should be in the next release, ETA end of January.

Sadly we can't revert since the change was necessary to get loop and shuffle working, the new release will practically bring back the old behavior.
I suggest until then you add new videos to watch later playlist and play it. Its really quick doing it on web, just click on bookmark icon under the video thumbnail.
      Hope it helps.

        Will this fix come soon?
it kind of sucks to press home each time i want to play next video sorted on newest instead of pressing next video.

        regards Jonte

jontese Yea we are doing an intermediate release early next week with a fix for this.

Sandi_SLR This is much better. I can watch new videos again. Thanks, Sandi_SLR!

However, right now, only the "next" button works. So in the screenshot below, I can only go from Video 1 to 2 to 3 etc.

          Previously, I also had the option to go backwards, e.g. Video 8 -> 7 -> 6 etc.

This is a much better workflow because I can quickly review the videos I've watched and liked already before looking at the new videos, giving me a baseline to compare the new videos against. If the quality is better, I keep the new videos. If the quality is worse, I hide them. I'm left only with the best videos for each performer.

Could you please make it so that the previous video button also works? Thank you!

dango789 we tested this through, Prev should work as you describe. Can you type the steps that don't work for you?

Sandi_SLR I think I'm having an issue similar to this. It happens on any playlist, whether it's Watch Later or one of my custom playlists. I'm on DeoVR version 13.7.1 on Oculus Link.

              1. Navigate to a playlist from the Home browser menu, ex. Watch Later.
              2. Play one of the videos on the playlist through the browser (we'll call it video A).
              3. While playing video A, open up the in-video playlist UI on the left. Note that the UI says you're in the Watch Later playlist.
              4. Use the in-video controls to go to the next video on the playlist (video B).
              5. After navigating to video B, look at the playlist UI again and note that the playlist has switched from Watch Later to Suggested. There is no control to go back to video A anymore.
              6. Further navigation from video B is through the Suggested playlist and not the original playlist you selected. Also, the Suggested list keeps refreshing whenever you switch videos, and the video you're watching is never on the Suggested playlist.
