doublevr Currently the handy is the best commercial interactive toy on the market (imo). Assuming that the SLR toy will be in the same price range it will have to be better than this and have a unique selling point that is enticing. I'd like to give my 5 cents about what makes the handy a good device and what this unique selling point could be:
Some of the strengths of the handy:
- Ease of setup, very easy to use with SLR and other sites
- Fast enough to keep up with scripts (Keon for instance just can't keep up with any fast movement and therefore I think it's just a bad device for interactive content. Even though the fleshlight support is nice.)
- Discrete and easy to store
- Sleeves and the device are very easy and quick to clean
- Does not require charging
- Fine control over position and stroke length during script playback (scale the length of the stroke, position the range of movement more to the top or bottom)
- Open and well supported API, so other tools (or you) can easily integrate with the toy (this is a MAJOR plus as it allows for endless integrations with websites, tools, things like adding a edging mode or GUI's for control of the toy, integrating with games, etc. Basically giving others the ability to create something you haven't though of yourself or are not willing to invest in and by that greatly expanding the usefulness of your product.)
- Easy to use in manual mode when no scripts are available
- No obstruction to your junk. E.g. the Keon has this plate that is in front of the fleshlight.
- Relatively quiet (could be better but it's still much better than some other toys)
- Stroke length is just enough (imo)
- Does not require third party apps to run (e.g. SLR haptics app, script player) and uses wifi instead of bluetooth
- Very solid and well constructed toy
- Quite a lot of good sleeve options
Some negatives of the handy:
- Requires some ingenuity to get a hands free experience (even though they have a mount now)
- Some sleeves tend to get loose (this can be fixed by updating the velcro band and/or getting another sleeve but should not be necessary).
- You "can't" use regular sized fleshlights (I have quite some handy sleeves but my stoya destoya is still better even though there are are some really good handy sleeves nowadays).
A unique selling point
So, if the above is at least on par with the handy what could be added to make this a device that is actually better and worth upgrading to? Some things that would make me consider upgrading:
- One or more extra degrees of freedom
- Rotation
- An easier hands free solution
- Proper fleshlight support
- Scriptable tightness
- Very quiet in operation while still having a powerful motor
Hope that gives you guys some feedback and I'm curious to see what you will come up with!
