Honkster if you log into SLR on pico browser you play the video then the glasses will appear.

Once you click on the VR glasses logo then it will enable you to view in VR. However the quality is capped to 1920.

valerianVR oh wow, this is the cheat code. After actually downloading the video onto your pico4 the quality of video is fantastic. I use my oculus go for standalone and hp reverb version 1 for desktop and I think the quality on this is actually better. Will compare reverb vs pico4 but off the bat the first impression was wow.

alina Again, that's not my experience. When I tried that method in my Pico 4 the glasses do appear but when I select them the screen goes black or is frozen.

        alina
        Nice!
Hopefully DeoVR will have everything set up soon, till then, nice little hack.
I did this on my GO when DeoVR and Skybox were having odd connection issues.
Troubleshooting for 2 days when all you want to do is watch a movie is not fun.
Pico 4 has nice amount of memory too.

Try downloading the vids that are WAAAAY beyond Pico 4 max resolution. Do they look better? Does the machine lag or skip frames?

          Honkster
Maybe try a total cold start. Turn unit completely off, completely charge off then boot up and try to update the firmware.
Maybe post your firmware version and then compare with Alina's.
I'm wondering if that's all it is, fingers crossed, or it could a be geo issue?

Maybe the vid is too high and it's a bandwidth bottleneck?

          Honkster
Join the Pico discord and post the issue in the "bugs and issue" sub.
Seems that people are having all sorts of random issues. (could also be that only the people with issues are posting and the rest are just lucky)
You could do a factory reset if you haven't made any purchases yet.

          What OS is your unit?

My Version is 5.1. I will also try higher quality above 2160 when I get a chance to see if there is stuttering.

            alina
Ok, now that's interesting. You're on the older OS. DON'T UPDATE YET. Something might be broken in the newer OS.

Seems that the DeoVR team are wrapping up and should have the app ready soon. (fingers crossed, and fingers crossed the unit arrives)

valerianVR I downloaded the 8k video that are usually around 10-15gb and they play flawlessly and look as good as my 1st gen reverb but with a better FOV. However when downloading and running the raw 70-90gb videos, the playback stutters.
Even though my internet is really fast I think I would download to flash drive instead since downloading through Wi-Fi directly to pico unit takes time.

valerianVR My Pico 4 system version is also currently 5.1.

Try downloading the vids that are WAAAAY beyond Pico 4 max resolution. Do they look better? Does the machine lag or skip frames?

I downloaded some trailers. One at 8192x4096 was smooth with no noticeable lag or skipping, but it wasn't as clear as one from CzechVR at 7680x3840, which was also smooth.

The Pico 4 supports Wi-Fi 6 at 1200 Mbps. My Internet connection is unfortunately even slower at the moment. I still have to lay a cable. I have tested interpolated videos at 90 fps. Everything runs smoothly. Fisheye 200 videos look wrong. Probably the pico player does not support that.

At the moment I use a NAS server. But I find streaming much more practical. Hopefully the SLR or DeoVR app will be here soon.

Stefan23121 The Pico4 OS 5.1 has remote play option. If you download remote play on your computer all you have to do is make sure the computer is connected to your network via lan and when you launch the desktop application you select all the videos you want to stream or be able to access on you Pico4. Then on the P4 go to remote play and you can stream any of the videos from your desktop. From my experience so far it works really well. So if this is how you plan to view your videos all you have to do is download to your desktop, add to remote play list then play from P4.

Stefan23121 agree, right now there are ways to enjoy high quality content but it will be a lot more convenient when actual DeoVR app or SLR app is available on the P4.

Man I been hearing cuz of its way cheaper price then the qp, the pico is a better option to choose.

Has Anyone purchased both to confirm this?

                      alina

All right, I'll test that. Probably the connection is faster than the NAS server. But I only have a CAD workstation from work. If I get fired, you have to offer me a job?

The Pico 4 has a button improve video quality. If you activate this, the colours look much more natural. However, you can only activate this function for some videos.

Does anyone have a test video with 16k 180 VR?
