dudu32 quest 2 has same 4 slam cams like pico 4...
just the pico 4 uses the front 5th single camera for colorize everything and the 4 slam cams does the fake 3d.

That's what I ment, that the q2 use more cameras for pt and pico uses 1 🤦‍♂️, 3d? SMH

Of course upgrading to color pt is a plus but how do the models look in pt in your room, example say I in a lay cg rcg, does it look good and do the walls of your bg look further away due to its one camera, or it's not that big of a deal??

I'd just get it cuz of color pt, I don't wanna wait till next October, plus I like how it looks 👍

      it looks a little bit zoomed in but still feels like your own eyes and like if you had just some normal goggles on and see through.

      so idk if you mean that but that not so bad and you get fast used to that and stop to notice such things when start playing around with passthrough...

      i tried to put some models on my couch, bed, and on my dick...it looks like the things are really in your room and everything fits good.

      when i try some passthrough porn on pico 4...i still have this feel that the girl really infront of me and that immersion + able to see own room in color is amazing and feels nice.

      its great experience.
      not perfect but clearly an improvement over the quest 2 overall.

        he talks here about passthrough.

        if you bring something close to your face (example your hands) then things start feel weird and getting big and only that can ruin your immersion in passthrough on pico 4...

        this is due to the lack of depth and not stereo...if i understand right.

        but this is not about models or the 3d objects around you that you put in your room...
        these things feels correct if you position them correct and scale right.
        everything good and enjoyable.

        so if you lay on bed and don't move with your hands infront of your face much and infront of the object model...everything will be look fine and good and immersed correct. =)

          honestly as a porn device the pico 4 is the best vr headset on the market atm considering price/value..of course you need to be aware that most likely someone in china is watching you jerk off but oh well.. and as already mentioned, its quite "open" in the sense that you can even copy apk files manually and just let them install on the device.

          damn i gotta say, i still prefer my index right now, the overall picture quality and experience is still better...the battery died on my pico so i had to do a sesh in the 'ol valve ball-and-chain last night and it was just better

          pico 4 picture quality is....odd....i can't really put my finger on it yet, feels like i can "see around or in between the pixels", whereas the screen saturation in an index is solid and feels like i'm really there in the scene

          sure the sharpness is a little better in the pico, but there's just something odd about the combination of the lower framerate, the light screendoor effect, the slightly worse tracking, having to jack up the brightness and contrast in every single scene, probably the lens situation too?

          all that said, this is all based on pretty limited use, i've only streamed from my main PC with the remote play assistant, and i haven't tried 90fps yet...presumably with time and updates and software improvements, the pico 4 will only get better, but updates won't fix how weirdly it fits on my head, how cheap and janky the controllers are, how i opted to keep one of the protective stickers over the passthrough camera because i just feel icky using it and no effing way am i purchasing anything on the pico store with my financial info, felt bad enough giving them my gmail and wifi password lol

          but hey, at least the pico is really, really cheap...it's still amazing for that price which i think is the point considering the information subsidizing

          i'm far from an expert on VR but i'm just not terribly impressed with the pico right now, the index is just a much better design in every way imaginable, so comfortable, so easy to use, tons of great software, presumably gabe newell is not interested in saving video of me busting, and nofio is rapidly becoming a real thing that will absolutely convince me to box up my pico and shelve it or sell it off, even as old and beat up as my index is i'll still prefer it for everything, absolutely sublime design by valve

                    I'm thinking about buying the pico 4, from what I've heard, the fov is as good or better than the Index if you remove the face pad. An aftermath face pad is going to take this headset to the next level.

                    Anyone know if passthrough works with pc link? I know for the quest 2, the option is there but it doesn't do anything....

                      alibaba I have both an index and a pico 4. Index fov is definitely better even with the absolute minimum of eye relief on the pico. It's fine though especially for the price.

                          alibaba yes, did quite a bit of experimenting (even measured it in test hmd) and the fov can be improved quite a bit. Just not to index levels.

                              It's not weird G, I thought about that while haf in q2, cuz I like to put effects like color and sharpen alot, i call it "remixing on the fly" wish deo had sum effectts to add, like echo, and a automatic hue color changing, but in pass-through the Grey background adds an effect too, so I thought fuc, a color pass-through just gonna be regular color in the new head sets but it would be cool it has filter options, options like color filters and effects, make your environment wobbly or blurry like a drunk effect. 🥴

                              But yeah, color filters would be cool. 👍
