I'm pulling my hairs out over issues with trying to play 5k videos on my headset.
Everytime I play a 5k video, with DirectShow enabled, the video plays in slow motion at about 20 fps.
If I disabled DirectShow, the video plays at choppy 40 fps (when the file is supposed to be 90 fps).
2k video plays fine at 89 fps.
The odd thing is I have all the codec installed and nvidia CUVID enabled in LAV settings
What's even more strange is my task manager shows 40% GPU usage prior to playing the video (since WMR cliffhouse and Steam VR both have to be running when I launch SLR)
When I actually play the video, my GPU usage jumped up to 80% usage and CPU usage up to 100%
Please help!
Things I installed:
HEVC Video extensions from Device Manufacturer (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hevc-video-extensions-from-device-manufacturer/9n4wgh0z6vhq)
HEVC Video extensions (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hevc-video-extensions/9nmzlz57r3t7?activetab=pivot:overviewtab)
K-Lite basic/full codec pack (https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm)
LAV filters (https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases)
Things I tried:
LAV video settings, change Hardware Decoder dropdown to use: "NVIDIA CUVID" (http://wearestars360.nsccreative.com/setup)
Enabling DirectShow (so it will actually use LAV) and disabling DirectShow
Players I used:
SLR player, DeoPlayer
Graphic card drivers I am using:
Nvidia 417.71
My computer specs:
Intel i5 4670K 3.4GHZ
8GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 1070ti 8GB
Thanks a bunch!
