Please make Fisheye VR possible to watch in Oculus GO

Hello, I love your new videos but I had to sell my Oculus Quest 2 and Im left with my oculus go. Your newer fisheye videos dont look good on it, it just looks like warped mono. Hard to explain. I remember reading that since it's some new form of recording, you can't alter it to look like the normal videos, but I implore you to maybe think about recording simultaneously with your old equipment / in other words making an alternate video with normal view. I fucking loved the shit out of your glory hole videos but the newer ones are unwatchable in go, its such a shame. I can only imagine what it looks like in proper stereo on the Go.

Go is deprecated from Oculus/Facebook/Meta whatever, you can not even release new/updated Software for the Plattform.

The Oculus Go is dead. Meta has stopped supporting it.

"...we’ll no longer accept new Oculus Go apps or app updates into the Store after December 4, 2020."

Meta has not committed to security updates beyond the end of 2022.

It’s like asking Sony to keep making games for the PS2. Technology has moved on, they can’t hold themselves back by having to make scenes that work on the old tech. I know VR headsets aren’t cheap, especially in the current climate, but I’m guessing you got a good run out of the Oculus Go, it’s time to invest in a new headset if you can.

No. PS2 dates back to the nineties. Go dates back five years ago, so better analogy is PS4. I get that they’ve stopped support. This has been discussed to death, but let’s at least be precise.

My Go still works perfectly and it’s a far more comfortable device than my Quest 2. I’ve accepted that I have to use the Quest, but it’s annoying nonetheless

argyle43 ha ha, shows what I know about consoles! You get the point though, when they move to a new console they eventually stop making games for the old one. Quest 2 has been around for a couple of years now, they aren’t going to support the old headset forever. I’ll probably sing a different tune though when they start to phase out Quest 2!

Just on the off-chance you haven't tried this, there is a button in Deo that enables the FishEye Effect. I use the much-out-of-date GearVR. Early videos look the best, but the new videos are fine. The women look giant from some angles. When that happens, just change the zoom.

[deleted] I’ve done everything I can with the downloads. Truthfully the very best thing to do as a Go user is forget about DEO player and watch them via DLNA on Pigasus, but that too is imperfect and not worth wasting the download, especially now that SLR has taken their latest step towards phasing out downloads (really don’t want to hear about how that isn’t in the plan either - it’s pretty obvious it’s the long-term strategy).

No… Quest 2 and streaming is the path of least resistance and I gave in to it a couple months ago. Too much else in life to stress over than this.

petermc That's the price you have to pay when you're buying into a closed eco-system. And that's also one of the reasons why I'm counting on PC VR. Zcukerberg will fuck you in the ass, sooner or later, anyway. 😉

Its only SLR videos that don't play on the Go. Every other studio's videos play on the Go. The second annoying thing is, usually VR studios offer videos for a wide ranging different type of VR, from the Samsung Gear, to the PlayStation VR. There is no reason they couldn't offer a Oculus Go option. Given its likely Samsung Gear will be excluded from this new Fisheye style too. Further, I suspect a significant number of people still use the Go. This was for a long time the main VR headset and it was a very reasonable price. And given people have made a console comparison. Every game so far this gen has had a PS4/PS5 version released in unison. Simply as the PS4 while old tech is still so popular.

AnthG I didn't have a GO but I had a gearvr for 4 years untill they upgraded my s10+ now it don't work, I was pissed, sum say I can revert my phone back but I already bought a quest 2, at first I hated it, facegaurd was very uncomfortable, I bout a vrcover that helped sum but I still got sweaty face especially in the summer. I started getting use to the quest, still hated the vrcover, then I recently found this foam cotton facegaurd on Amazon similar to the gearvr, way freaking better. No more sweaty face or a facegaurd imprinted on my face after hours of watching hotties. But I've come to enjoy the quest 2 now I'd recommend buying it...

But since I'm not really into games, I wish they still made new versions of the GO, i heard it was similar to the gearvr, for cheaper price and just for media would be cool if they did that, fuck...but they probaly wouldn't have the pass through if it was for a cheaper price 🤔,

Why don't you upgrade? I was fine with my gearvr but I was forced into upgrading. 🤷‍♂️
