So SLR Japan is mostly censored of visible genitalia and penetration to abide by laws in Japan. Is there any way to provide access to those of us outside the United States videos blocked by America's harsh and nonsensical censorship laws? SLR Premium now blocks as "non-consensual" Japanese time-stop videos, including the time-stop film created for SLR Originals ... Since SLR has servers outside the US might you place those videos outside the US to give non-American users access to them? Region blocks might be a way of expanding access to the SLR library.

[deleted] These videos aren't blocked by any laws, but card processing rules which are global. The movies aren't even blocked, but removed from SLR. Unfortunately, due to how card processing works, you can't simply have a special corner of the site fenced off from billers and be compliant. If it's all on the same domain, it all counts. Furthermore, making a spin-off domain for only this type of content and billed by crypto, for example, is on one level feasible, but two problems arise: most everyone uses credit cards so the site wouldn't be financially viable and going back to card processing rules, SLR wouldn't even be able to link or promote it in any way.

Honestly, from my own industry insights (both western and Japanese), I believe the heavy focus on NOT allowing processing for seemingly non-consensual albeit obviously staged and professionally-shot content that appears often in JAV will eventually make its way to Japan. Mind you, be it here or in Japan, at the end of the day, the most popular type of adult video BY FAR is simply vanilla content of attractive women engaging in rather plain sex. Time Stop is a very, very niche genre.

Great post ZENRA ! That's really clear and explains just how controlling the credit card companies have become. Basically they are making all JAV un-sellable, then. Since JAV is censored their appeal depends on the story.

One question, though: shouldn't this make Kink.com and all of the back catalogue unsellable.

One idea might be to create a separate domain and advertise it as a separate site but tack on a "free" membership to the site for all who join SLR.

You should probably also consider just how persnickety the credit card companies would be. Some of the early videos from SLR - via the JAV partners - are obviously a push for North American censorship -- like the schoolgirl bus stop ones. In my view much of what was taken down remains less controversial than videos currently on the site. Like have you seen the "Stolen" films from VRBangers? Whitney Wright goes hunting with a shotgun, and explodes live ordinance, for another model, with the intention to drug and r@pe her, and the model is black too, so there's quite a lot of controversy there.

[deleted] Per Kink, I am familiar with the site, but not their catalog. Given their size, if they indeed have non-compliant content online per modern standards, I am sure they will eventually take it down.

Per your separate 'free' site, unfortunately, card processors are not stupid. If 95% of the people aren't going to be interested in buying this type of content even if it's online on the same page as mainstream material, it's not worth the risk of losing processing to satisfy a few hardcore fans.

[deleted] I believe the reason we don't add JAV codes to updates here is due to piracy. JAV sudios, as I have noted here and there, are near useless in preventing movies from being illegally uploaded. It's beyond frustrating to be honest. Nowadays, if you shoot adult, you should also have a modicum of anti-piracy tools always on deployment.

No one pirates JAV from SLR because pirates want the original files and can only get them from R18. SLR is very secure for those original files. Might as well share the codes...

some producers with good shit need to find a way...people that like that stuff will pay for it, as long as it meets their needs

there were a few that got deleted on here... I went looking and would have paid 100 bucks for a few of the clips...luckily found 80 percent of them. one of em...use at least 3-4 times a month when all else is shit and not doing the job

[deleted] That'll probably be a decision best left up to either their administrators and/or SEO team. I think codes are best not used due to ease of piracy, but it's also something of a chicken and egg problem. If piracy is mitigated, then codes make it easier to find legal content on the web. However, sites that license like SLR can't legally send DMCA's to other sites that have stolen JAV unless the content was clearly stolen from SLR. This would be hard to prove and still require red tape (such as contractual approval from studios who really should be doing this already since they're the ones who shot the material) before being able to send notices.

Well no need to worry now since R18 is closing. No competition!
