innol Passthrough is a thing, though it's definitely in the early stages of development imho. But there's quite a few threads discussing passthrough on the Quest 2 and even Index here in the Forum.

justsomedude101 May l ask you a question: playing a 60fps video with a 60hz(limit) headset using local player. Could it keep 60fps all the time? or just run around 40fps? btw l always suffer asynchronous sound because of outdated equipment

innol Sounds like you may just need to upgrade when you're able. If your headset is 60hz and your video is 60fps (which most are), then it should be playing smoothly at 60fps. If it's dropping down to 40fps then yeah - it is probably just your system struggling to maintain the higher fps and being throttled.

Talking generally here, since i obviously don't know your system specs/headset/etc.
