It would be really interesting to know why you guys can’t get the right contrast. Is the lens just not sharp? How does it perform in bright lighting at a high aperature? I mean most slr Cameras are wonderfully sharp and detailed at even 50mp and 8k is 32mp I think. So no ideas why it would be impossible.

@"doublevr"#p26326 This was a tough call I'm sure — it's really frustrating to have to go backwards — but I think it's the right one for now. Maybe the crew can keep doing camera tests on the side.

@"bukboy"#p26331 It sounds like it's purely a lens compatibility issue. I'd imagine the camera is recording a crystal clear version of a distorted image the lenses are providing.

Just for completeness though, the lily starfire scene was in focus just fine except for the closeup. The problem was not focus, it was contrast. When you guys experiment, does adding a bit of cross lighting improve the situation? I would imagine flat broad lighting does nothing to bring out the skin details. But then the Kira Perez missionary focus was totally wrong but I think it’s coz someone forgot to check the todo off against a checklist.

Weird i didn't notice the issues, and quality was great IMO. Hopefully that can be fixed

Well as someone not ready to throw out my Go I’ll be very happy to be able to stream scenes again in DEO app. Scale has also been just slightly too large on the last several scenes, so I’ll be very pleased to get the perfection that we saw in the scenes prior to this rig. Celebrating here. 🥳🎉

@"doublevr"#p26326 I think that’s a smart decision. As much as you don’t want to go backwards, you need to perfect the new equipment before filming new scenes with it. I personally didn’t have as big an issue with it as some, a few scenes aside, but when so many others are, that says there’s something wrong. Hopefully producers can keep testing this stuff behind the scenes to figure out how to get the best results but I do remember Wankzvr, months ago, saying people would have scaling issues with this new camera unless their eyes are super close together.
