  • Please incentivize Studios to meet a certain quality threshold,SLR too.

I am just talking about the clarity of the video. Content really is a matter of taste but visual quality is not. I think its bad for the reputation of the site to feature studios that release nothing but blurry videos. And its much worse to release them yourself (SLR Originals). Postponing a scene to edit it and uploading a different, completely broken scene the very next day is a terrible look for SLR. Here are some suggestions :

  • Add a filter (slider) that allows users to filter for quality. For example 4k+/5k+/6k+/7k+/8k+. Upscaling doesnt count. In general please make upscaling more transparent.
  • Somehow incentivize studio to shoot better quality. I have no idea how your financial deals with the studios work but I would suggest better quality = more money.
  • Dont upload broken SLR videos. But if you do, release them out of the schedule so they dont block the spot of a legit video.

    Hey Randomperson.
Is there any particular scene you are referring to? Would really like to know more on that.

    To address your other questions.

    1. The videos are produced in 5K/6K and 8K with many 6K being upscaled to 8K. If decoder can do 6K, then it also does 8K, there's no difference from tech side of things and I don't think there's any content produce lower than 5K/6K, thus we only have True 8K Tag in place https://www.sexlikereal.com/tags/true-8k-vr

    2. We are in touch with producers a lot regarding tech side of things. Everyone who is looking to get their stuff up will get it. And it's hard to incentivise someone who doesn't care about of it. It's still a small pond with some few dozens of active producers. Otherwise it's clear for everyone that you can't do business in 2022 without getting your tech right.

    3. What are those "broken videos" you are referring to? I hope you realise we never intend release anything that's broken, yet a very limited group of people is managing enormous amounts of content.

If any of you guys would like to join our content management team or QA to make sure none of that happens please apply https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/2684-come-join-the-slr-team/

doublevr I don't know if OP is referring to specific videos but I've too encountered quite a few videos where the file size is already an indication of questionable quality. I really like Emily Bloom's content for example, but when you have an >11 min clip of "6K" quality and the file size is 1.5 GB, then my alarm bels are already ringing. And in her case the video quality is blurry indeed and not up to the standard that I find acceptable on any modern VR headset.

Uncandyvalley Asked content team to check with Emily. We are processing whatever creators uploaded. Script is doing what it has to - processing the video giving the best quality. If it's low on the input there's not chance it's going to get better after processing.

doublevr Certainly. I'm not claiming in any way that there are any issues with the algorithms.
Should there be a filter to make sure that the input is sufficient i.e. that it fulfils sexlikereal's quality requirements? I'm not sure if such requirements exist but I at least see the platform as a home for high quality videos.

You reprocess the videos? Is there a reason not taking the videos as they are uploaded from the studios?
I mean every processing step reduces video quality even if it may be so slightly that it is invisible.

Add to this the odd studios with scenes in 2D that still turn up sometimes. I mean, how does that new Aussie site have any likes at all with it's weird 2D vids, are they bots?
