It is but if you try arguing against free porn on tube sites or even just age verification to stop kids accessing it, you will be shouted down. People are so used to being able to just watch porn for free and not have to hand over any details like credit card numbers etc for age verification. You’ll get the usual “parents should monitor what their kids watch or should put parental controls on” like kids can’t get around that or watch it on their friends phone who doesn’t have parental locks.

As far as I am concerned all porn should be behind a paywall. That doesn’t mean I don’t look at tube sites, I do because they’re there. If I find something I like though, I usually seek out the original source and see if I can subscribe to that site. I would be perfectly happy to see all these free sites disappear though. I think then you’d get better quality porn and more hot girls would come back to the industry as there would be decent money to be made. Many now choose to concentrate on customs and their own onlyfans (or other similar services) as that’s how they can make some decent money rather be paid a crappy rate for a mainstream porn scene.

petermc so far VR porn seems to be an exception. Yes you can find free VR porn out there, but the quality is so godawful bad who would bother? I suppose there’s still a wealth of all manner of porn available through torrents, but I can’t remember when I last even tried to pull content off torrent hosts - has to be over ten years ago. It’s just too much hassle for what one may find, and then add in the risks of picking up some truly awful malware in the process, nah fuck that, it’s just far easier to subscribe. Plus everyone should be of the mindset that if we want an industry like this to continue to thrive and grow larger and more diverse, then it’s critical the pioneers have the incentives to keep innovating.

argyle43 I’ve never got anything off a torrent site as am too scared of what I might get. I remember seeing something in a newspaper about a guy trying to get an album by guitar player Slash off a torrent site and ended up with child porn on his computer. He actually reported it himself to the Police but ended up in trouble over it even though it was not deliberate.

I did think years ago, before I ever got into it, that VR could be the saviour of porn that way as you would not be able to get decent quality on a tube site. It just hasn’t quite taken off to sufficient levels though, at least not yet.

They did actually get Pornhub at one time to remove all stolen content and only have official stuff from verified accounts. Not sure if that’s still the case.

As in all walks of life, some pornstars (male and female) are not too bright and some are smart operators. If you think now with the likes of onlyfans, they are filming their own stuff, doing their own editing, making trailers and running their own business. It’s a lot of work all whilst having to stay in great physical shape and dealing with social media and all the horrific abuse they get. It’s not an easy job physically, mentally or in the amount of time it takes out of your day.

mnmlikereal or just get a credit card that lets you set up virtual card numbers that can be set to limited dollar amounts and/or expiration dates, and auto-renewals therefore don’t go through unless you allow it.

mnmlikereal If studios want people to pay for content , then they need to get rid of the "locked into subscription" model. People should be able to pay for a month subscription (Without Reoccurring charges).

Don't most have this as an option these days? Genuinely curious.

I'm in annual/lifetime for my personal subs so I rarely look at new subscription plans/pricing, so legit just not familiar these days.

There are the odd studio that offer a one month non-recurring membership (usually priced a little higher than the recurring one) but I don’t think most do for the same reason any subscription service doesn’t. That being that they make a ton of money off people that just forget to cancel their membership long after they stop using the service or just can’t be bothered with the hassle. This can apply to things like gym memberships too, streaming services etc. How many people sign up for gym memberships, go for about 3 weeks and then gradually stop going but leave their membership running for months. It must be at least 6 months since I watched anything on Netflix but my membership has been left running all through that time just through sheer laziness.

I personally find it to be pretty easy to cancel most porn site subscriptions especially through epoch or ccbill. Some are a bit trickier but it’s usually not all that difficult. Sites would lose a ton of money though if peoples memberships automatically ended after a month and they had to sign up all over again.
